    Glad to see Verlander's pitch count high in the first inning. Wish it didn't rain.

    His pitch count is always high in the first couple innings...he seems to have a way of managing it and bring it down...sucks though...working on a no hitter :D.

    I'm confident with Fister in game 1 and 5...no pitcher was pitching better the last 6 weeks or so than Fister...no so confident in Sherzer for game 2.

    I felt this way too at first but only facing Sabathia once is a pretty good trade off.

    I didnt realize that. I wasnt paying as much attention once the Tigers clinched. Either way the fact that they ever even started that game last night screwed things up for both teams.

    yanks dont want to go to detroit 1-1 with verlander in 3 and burnett in 4

    big game in a few hours because of the rain..normal series 1-1 wouldn't be as troublesome for the yanks

    Scherzer scares me a little but if they dont do a little better at the plate it really doesnt matter who pitches today. I couldnt believe how bad they looked against Nova. It is only one game, but today is huge now.

    I really thought they could take 2 with the way Verlander and Fister were pitching at the end of the season, now they could be 2...the tigers just don't do the fundamentals very well...I think it was the 4th when they had a runner thrown out at the plate...instead of base loaded 1 out, you suddenly have 2 out...frustrating. Need a big game from Sherzer and more patient at bats.

    Yeah, I couldnt believe they sent Avila home in that situation, just bad baseball. Im headed home to Detroit next sunday for a week. Im really hoping they can get by the yankees so I can see an alcs game while im in town. The only games ive made it to in the last 3 years were 2 rainouts. Hopefully they show up stronger for the rest of this series.

    Hopefully thet get by the yankees...but I think many people over estimated Detroit and under estimated the yankees...me included.

    so far sherzer has done what was needed...still not over...yankees have a lot of pop in their bats.

    If the Tigers win...then it's 1-1 and Sabathia vs Verlander...has either of the pitchers pitched enough in the last 10 days or so? one could be rusty?

    That was not easy!!!! Fundamentals...that will be the the Tigers downfall...rain, no rain, slippery on deck circle Inge has to make that play...very, very lucky it did not cost them.

    Between that game and the lions game my heart was about to explode. Valverde definitely makes things interesting at times.
