Living across from Detroit...the only team from Detroit I ever really rooted for...nice to see them doing so well...with Verlander and Fister in game 1 and 2 they have a great shot at winning this series.

Yes I like to think it is :D. Hockey loyalties are divided between Detroit and Toronto with a lot of Montreal fans in the mix. I myself was a huge Montreal fan...until St. Patrick was traded...I was not happy about about that...now more of a casual fan...hardly ever watch regular season games...only watch the playoffs and just root for the Canadian teams to do well.

I never go to the Joe for games...haven't been in years...we got excellent junior hockey and prefer attending those games.

I don't like the Joe its an outdated arena...badly needs replacing.

I always been a Tiger fan though...

    +1

They could go up 2-0 with Verlander and Fister...

  • The Tigers are on a roll and have had the Yankees number recently. One thing to watch for... The Yankees are very patient at the plate and will try to drive up the pitch count on the Tigers starters. Tigers in five!

  • Go Tigers! My dad brought me up a Tigers fan but somehow I thought rooting for a Home team (Mets) was more fun...my bad on that one!

But I hope the Tigers win it, although I have a soft spot for the Dbacks since Gibson is the manager and Trammal is the bench coach...

They were just talking about that same subject on sports radio this morning...my biggest concerns with the tigers is they don't do the fundamentals well and Leyland...not a big fan of him.

That could hurt them and could come back to bite them in the ass if it happens in the games.

  • I think Fister is going to be a lovely surprise in game 2. He has mostly flown under the radar with all of the Verlander hoopla, but the kid has been almost unstoppable since he put on the old English D.

why would the yankees be scared? i am pretty sure they have a player or two on their team that has been in the post season a few times before. but that's just an educated guess.

i completely agree with you. i've been a fan of the Tigers for almost 40 years...through everything, the good, bad, ugly, wins, losses, close but no cigars....

but this year? i've got a really good feeling .... and if i'm wrong, it's still been the *best* season of Tiger baseball for me, hands down, kick ass.... ;)

On the other hand, Yankees fans have been overrating Nova all year. I think the Yanks are in big trouble if CC doesn't win tonight.

I'm actually going to try to root for the Yankees (if I can stomach it). I want to beat their asses in the Series. Beating Detroit, all due respect, just doesn't have the same ring to it. ;)
