While Iran maintains that the enriched uranium is 'just' for electricity it is obv imho that they want to destroy isreal.

Obvious to whom? Certainly not obvious according to the intelligence assessment Israeli officials have obtained. In spite of all their calls for war, Israel still aren't convinced that Iran has even made the decision to build a nuclear weapon. Coupled with the fact that US SecDef Leon Panetta said, and I quote, "Are they [Iran] trying to develop a nuclear weapon? No," only goes to show that the US and its allies are blatantly lying about Iran's nuclear program (in the context that Iran was trying to attain nukes).

There is no conclusive evidence that they are building a nuclear weapon.

Oh and has Israel signed the NPT yet? Anyone calling for a trumped up war without evidence is an effing hypocrite.

    Occupy Iran!
  • In Tuesday's State of the Union address, Mr. Obama said: "Let there be no doubt: America is determined to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, and I will take no options off the table to achieve that goal."
    Signed,
President hope and change you can choke on.

Ironically this might be one of the rare times this hopeLESS President might actually practice what he preaches. He's been a miserable failure in the past.

    Thoughts on the Haaretz article?

my thought on the article is that it is not relevant if they have actualy assembled the bike. If it's wrapped up in a box under the tree with all the components, it will be easy to assemble later in the day. No need to stay up all night Christmas eve.
  • The mess of corporations and armies and destruction. No Iran should not have nukes.China shouldnt have nukes. Russia shouldnt have nukes, The USA should not have nukes. Neither French or North Korea. Nobody should have nukes. We keep perpetuating the myth nuclear proliferation is a deterrent. Its just a bunch of babies with guns. Man to live past this fucking nightmare of our nuclear age is 4.5 billion to one. Im just beginning to think its just male phallic symbol he who has the biggest bomb wins.

Why has a thread calling for bombs to be dropped on a country - a country that has never attacked America and has never threatened to attack America - not yet been locked?

Back in the days when I was teaching I watched an eleven year old kid (a boy might I add) write this statement:

"Bombs are phallic symbols of death- big dicks that kill things rather than create life."

If you are seriously discussing about bombing and invading a country, you better have serious evidence that that Country is guilty. The implications with any error in judgement are going to be significant to both Israel, Iran and the rest of us. Whichever way it goes. As long as you understand that.

And who's going to pay for this? You know, budget deficit, economic decline and all that?

    Let's borrow from China.

Same people who pay for everything. the top 10%. Besides, this is about ISRAEL striking Iran right?

We just will get involved after Iran tries to stop the oil flow.....

It's a US based message board.

Frequented mostly by residents of a Country which still remains the only Country in the world to have deployed Nuclear weapons creating mass devastation and loss of lives, not one but twice. It's obviously not a big deal to some of them. It's how they roll. Some of them see nothing wrong with it.

Only a fool would support Israel striking Iran after i've just shown you that Israel still aren't convinced that Iran has even made the decision to build a nuclear weapon.

And what about the non-monetary costs? What if a preemptive strike of this nature led to wide spread war, especially wide spread nuclear war? This sounds to me like some crazy members of our species wanting to end civilization. If that has to be done, can't we at the very least find a way to do ourselves in without taking most of the rest of life on earth with us?

But better yet, what about focusing our energies on peace... or has everyone become too cynical about that word any more?

What does this have to do with the topic at hand. What are you even talking about. Is this how you divert focus away from what is being discussed? Send a PM and keep your idiocy out of threads. Some of us are here to discuss the topic.

People are easily duped in this country. Its kind of a fact of life and to some people I know ignorance is worn like a badge.

I obviously support a diplomatic solution to the "concerns". Unfortunately it's looking more likely that our leaders don't seem to agree with me.

I hate to sound cynical myself, but I'd bet that's because they don't see dollar signs in peace diplomacy the way the do in war and conflict.

unfortunately i think you are right.

all of this talk of using nukes reminds me of those old instructional movies on how to survive a nuke attack by getting under your desk....duck and cover....

as if we are threatened by iran...

if israel wants to pick a fight, let them fight for themselves and keep us the hell out of it.

the only reason this is even happening is because bibi knows obama will have his back...

  • Hmmm... I thinking about going out and having a few tonight. I hate going to the bar alone. But if I get crunked we can karaoke it together. We can also do a duet to born to be wild by steppenwolf.

How ridiculous. They already have taken out the computers. Killed their scientist and now we have to bomb them? Thats not enough?

Wait, like I mentioned oil and gold. pffttt... we all pay for their plundering. Go away. I dont want to see this ridiculous stuff. Saying the top 10% in paying for it when in actuality they haven't paid for the last ongoing mess and profited hugely from it.

While our sons and daughters are brainwashed made to believe this propaganda and sent gungho into wars losing their lives or come home mangled deformed and f@ked up in the head. Then lets mention killing and maiming and scarring lives of civilian families.
