They set the Cup schedule before they even know who was playing. Guessing they were just scheduling around the NBA Finals. Feels like NHL always does just 1 day between games.
They set a schedule even though 2 teams might have off a week each? Interesting. The NBA adapts as the series close out.
Looking at he 2025 schedule now it says TBD for the 2nd rd and conference finals. Also the end date for the Stanley Cup isn't yet posted. My guess would be in case something like this happens?

Not true, the NBA finals dates (and conference finals) were always etched in stone as well. (Back in September when Patriots announced Tom brady ceremony on 6/12/24, immediately local sports radio noted it was same date as game 3 of NBA finals and a good shot Celts would be playing) They only adapt the start of the 2nd round I believe.
And in recent years the NBA and NHL finals schedules are definitely planned in cahoots as the same network is broadcasting both, so they have to play on different nights. (NBA game 6 would have been last night, if necessary, NHL game 6 tonight, NBA game 7 would have been Sunday and NHL game 7 will be Monday.

Wow. Still a huge hurdle to overcome, but to get here is truly amazing with the pressure on them. Hope they can somehow win the hardest one of the 4....the closeout game.

Haha go lick jugglers balls. This is shocking. Florida looks like a completely different team the last 3 games, stunning
Same could be said for Edmonton in the first three games. They have had a hell of a season. Blood, guts, determination, and arguably the two best players in the game at the moment, if any team could pull off a four-game reverse sweep, it would be this one.
I’m keeping everything crossed for luck on Monday. #GoOilers

I knew not know who is going to win but I hope it goes into triple or quadruple overtime. I do know, however, that whatever result, one team’s fan base is going to be ecstatic and the other devastated. Thank turtle I don’t have to watch because despite not really caring who wins and not being a fan of either team my heart can’t handle it. Hockey is the one sport that regardless of who is playing, I get all nerved up. Enjoy it if you can.
The offsides challenge has got to be the dumbest thing in pro sports

That's a hot take. I have more of a problem with the baseball deal now, where you have 2b or SS holding the tag all the way through waiting for that quarter inch of someone coming off the bag on a slide, well after the player was initially safe. I mean if you come way off the bag, that's on you. The offsides doesn't bother me as much, but boy was that close last night. He was technically offsides.

I won’t do that but, full disclosure, after both the NBA and NHL were 3-0, I said the Mavs had a better chance of winning a game than the Oilers.
glad I was wrong and I literally laughed out loud when the offsides was confirmed.

why would anyone complain about the right call being made?
Was it right? Different people/analysts had different opinions. If it's that close, it should just count.
And I'm rooting heavy for Edmonton.
I have always hated the challenge. As a guy who watched several thousands of hockey games before the rule, it was never something I desired. Linesmen get it right
It only works 1 way, to take away goals. You can't challenge a call the other way to get a rush back.
Also, zone entry is almost never a primary factor in a goal getting scored.
I didn't see one single opinion saying it should have counted after the call was made. not one.
grey areas are where sports officiating fails, in many cases of no fault of the refs. we should strive to make it as black and white as possible. it could have gone the other way. he loses the challenge, FL goes on the PP. It's a risk.

You lose the challenge you get a penalty. One of the best rules in sports.

Only thing that kinda sucks is that the game is being played in Florida. Would have been cool possibly to see Edmonton win in it in Canada.
