You're anti-hipster sentiment is palpable.
It wasn't bad so much because of the people. I just didn't (and don't) think that the content is all that impressive. Year in and year out, the releases seem like cast-offs from bands, or geared toward the weird collector. I mean, if we're really interested in listening to things on vinyl (and not just collecting because it's "limited edition"), why would I go spend $30 on some special clear or colored vinyl? Or a Flaming Lips album that may or may not have actual blood from some of the members on it. Weird.
For me, the spirit of it is great (increase awareness and support of indie record stores that might otherwise be failing in this new, digital economy), but I also spend regular money at record stores any way, so maybe the whole thing isn't geared toward the regular vinyl buyer/listener in the first place.

As for ticket sales, this http://pearljam.com/tickets/faq will probably help better than I could explain. Essentially, you have to be valid at the time of the announced cut off, you enter the drawing for tickets, they hold funds on your card, if your name is drawn, your card is charged, tickets are held at will call, seated by seniority (rows 1,2 and 9,10 are lottery) and only you can pick them up.

normally i am down for meeting beforehand (obviously), but as it is my birthday on monday, i have planned an evening on a party bus with some friends for saturday night, and the plan is to pull up about 15-20 minutes before the black angels go on (i expect around 11 but i'll definitely check set times). however, i am certainly down to pre-game outside should we arrive early enough. i'll be in my black pink floyd beanie and probably a hoodie (and i'm still rockin' the beard), so if i don't see you first, find me. if you have interest in joining on the party bus (where there will be PLENTY of pregame activities) let me know and i'll get you the details.
also, if you see me at the fetus, certainly say hi.

this will be show 6 i think. saw them at 'roo and lolla in 07, at the turf in 08, the varsity in '10, fine line in '11, and now this one. looks like they've standardized the setlist for this tour, so hopefully that means they have some cool visual and light stuff going on.

i saw you! you were near the front of the stage but i couldn't make it over there when they were done before you must have left. i had to have walked right by you because i got there shortly before they started and cut in front of the stage to get to the other side of the store, but i didn't notice you then. it was only after i found a spot by the dvds on the wall that i spotted you.

yeah, i don't even bother with the fetus on rsd. if the angels weren't there i wouldn't have been. i didn't even buy anything. i wills ay i thought it would be busier for the angels- it wasn't TOO difficult to move around. looked to have cleared out pretty good afterward though.

what kind of music to you spin as DJ? I also DJ in Twin Town!
Another question to all of you...I'm new to the Club, and have never ever seen PJ live, and once they announce a show here :think: I desperately need to have at least one ticket, hopefuly 2 so I can bring my 8 year old son with. How does the ticket sales work? Please for the love of Minnesota, help me not miss out!

As for ticket sales, this http://pearljam.com/tickets/faq will probably help better than I could explain. Essentially, you have to be valid at the time of the announced cut off, you enter the drawing for tickets, they hold funds on your card, if your name is drawn, your card is charged, tickets are held at will call, seated by seniority (rows 1,2 and 9,10 are lottery) and only you can pick them up.

normally i am down for meeting beforehand (obviously), but as it is my birthday on monday, i have planned an evening on a party bus with some friends for saturday night, and the plan is to pull up about 15-20 minutes before the black angels go on (i expect around 11 but i'll definitely check set times). however, i am certainly down to pre-game outside should we arrive early enough. i'll be in my black pink floyd beanie and probably a hoodie (and i'm still rockin' the beard), so if i don't see you first, find me. if you have interest in joining on the party bus (where there will be PLENTY of pregame activities) let me know and i'll get you the details.
also, if you see me at the fetus, certainly say hi.
i'll be at the twins game monday night with the lady for my actual birthday so if any of you are going and want to chill let me know.

i saw you! you were near the front of the stage but i couldn't make it over there when they were done before you must have left. i had to have walked right by you because i got there shortly before they started and cut in front of the stage to get to the other side of the store, but i didn't notice you then. it was only after i found a spot by the dvds on the wall that i spotted you.
What a zoo! I walked in around 1pm, and I THINK the band had just arrived...but we didn't stay long. It was crazy in there...

yeah, i don't even bother with the fetus on rsd. if the angels weren't there i wouldn't have been. i didn't even buy anything. i wills ay i thought it would be busier for the angels- it wasn't TOO difficult to move around. looked to have cleared out pretty good afterward though.
