Pretty sure this was my first concert.

pink floyd at the dome in 94 was my first show.

i went to edgefest 5 and 6 (98/99) and those were my first festival experiences. a couple memories of those: i lost my friends yet somehow ended up down at the front swigging and passing tequila bottles around during motorhead. lemmy's mole was -> <- this far away! hole showed up late and when they did play they played only a few songs before courtney left the stage. the crowd chanted "courtney's a cunt" and "courtney killed kurt". during the crystal method set this girl in front of me started rubbing up all on me so i went with it. then her friend showed up after awhile and took her away with an evil glare.

    good times.

Holy shit I remember that. I was at Edgefest for like three years in a row. I had the luxury of an older brother who into concerts and quite responsible, so I got to go.

I totally remember Hole being late and people heckling her...

That's too bad...I was looking forward to seeing who was booked for the fest. The good news is that because PJ announced long ago that they were doing a fall US tour (and this fest was in July), we can most likely rest assured that the "legendary act [booked for First Ave's fest] that likely won't come here at all" is NOT PJ.

"Kranz did not name names, but we know that at least one of the pull-outs is coming to town in July for another big outdoor event. Another legendary one that was in line for the show probably isn’t coming here at all."

That means My Morning Jacket or Wilco were likely going to play the First Avenue fest.

eTix was bad? Whenever we get tickets for First Ave shows, the surcharges were always like $1.50/ticket.

    That's rough...but I'm glad you got tickets! :D:D:D

$67 tickets ended up being $82. Hefty price to pay, but the lineup is too sweet to miss!

Thats what I thought too (I mean.. thats why they converted to eTix).

Get this.. each ticket had a $12 convenience fee, .50 charity fee, and .60 tax fee. THEN the subtotal of the two tickets included a $3 ORDER FEE!! (you'd think that was part of the conv fee!!) :fp:

Derek said you and Hannah were holding off.. probably smart if you wait and just get box office or something.

Yeah, it just came down to prioritizing our money for shows and travel. We're doing the Stones in Chicago, PJ in Chicago, hopefully PJ in the fall, maybe another trip in there somewhere. We'd love to do it (actually, I'm quite torn over this), but right now, spending $82/ticket is something we should probably hold off on. The compromise I told myself is that (1) we will still do pregame with everyone, and (2) if tickets are available in a month, we'll get them.

The compromise I told myself is that (1) we will still do pregame with everyone, and (2) if tickets are available in a month, we'll get them.

oh I totally hear you! Derek and I have given up a few shows here and there as well (the night before Dylan is Dawes which we totally planned on but then Dylan showed up..). It's great to have the outlook of whats coming up and being able to prioritize. I just hope to find out more about this PJ fall tour so we can prioritize even more!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JJJJJJJOE!!!! From someone who's been 30 for a good 3 weeks now, I'm going to predict that PJ has some special tweets to soon follow your nerdy weekend bash. (I know this prediciton has nothing to do with 30's advice but.. whatever)

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys. :)

I went to Kohl's in Coon Rapids today on lunch to buy a bow-tie (yeah that's right!), and in the parking lot, there was a car with a Stickman sticker on the back window. There was also an Atlanta Falcons sticker too. As I walked in, not five seconds later, a guy walked out with a suit on, and on his lapel was an...Atlanta Falcons pin. I asked him if that PJ sticker was, by chance, his. He said that it was.

We got to talking and he mentioned that he had tried to get tickets to Wrigley but was shut out. I told him that he should check this thread before as tickets always come available.

So if you're out there Falcons/PJ guy with a glasses and a suit...join us!

Hello, fellow Minnesotans. I live in Two Harbors. Anyone been there? My friend and I have have flights booked from Duluth to Chicago and hotel reservations, but…you guessed it… no tickets yet. We were shut out of fan club and public sale. So, feel free to send me a message if you have an extra ticket (or two) open up! I hate to pay the outrageous amount some people are asking but, I'd gladly cover the cost of my ticket and yours! Free show for you if you can get us in! Still holding out hope that they will play a show in MN too! Thanks guys!

Yep! It's not that remote! lol! United flies directly. Or you could fly delta to msp, to chi. Figured it was cheaper than driving with just 2 of us. And saves us about 8 hours too.

Friday BUMP!!! Just scored PIT tix for Brian Regan at the Orpheum 11/16... of course if PJ is within driving range during this time, I will sell these tix for travel $ and time! 8-)
