    MNDOT rain day bump.

I wonder if the Foo Fighters tour will open the door for Pearl Jam (or other big bands) to explore playing "out of the way" towns and venues

I hope so. Paul McCartney played here in Sioux Falls last year and they were saying that had a good chance of attracting some of the bigger acts. Pretty pumped about Foo Fighters playing here. Gives me hope for Pearl Jam some day.

Both MSP and Sioux Falls are equidistant from me, so I'll take PJ at either location.

I was able to score 2 GA to FF in Sioux Falls!

I really want to like Foo Fighters.  I really do.  But...in the end, meh.  For every great song, they've got a lot of yelling, wanna-be anthemic stuff that I just can't get into.

In all sincerity, that's cool that you got your tickets.  Have fun!

Wish a big show was coming here...

i, too, wish i liked the foos more. just haven't hit the right notes for me. i did get their greatest hits on vinyl from amazon a few weeks ago for under $10 - at that price it was like 'why not?'.

Anyone wonder why QotSA keeps returning to the garbage fire that is Roy wilkins auditorium? Not going to go sadly. Hope the new album rocks

How bad is Roy Wilkins auditorium? I'm going to see QotSA there and it'll be my first time at that venue.

it's just a cavern. wilkins is awful if you're anywhere other than directly facing the the stage. hopefully you're on the floor so you can at least position yourself in the middle somewhere.

Roy Wilkins is the WORST venue in the Twin Cities. It sucks getting in. Plan on drinking beers? Don't cause the bathroom sucks. Yes, one bathroom in the place. The sound is questionable at best.

Avoid when at all possible. 1 star rating. Would not recommend to friends or family.

Unfortunately,  I'm on the left side of the stage. My wife may be going with me so I couldn't do GA.

oof. be prepared for a lot of echo and muddy sound.

i mean, i don't want to bring you down. it's not like you'll have a bad time. it's just a shitty venue. and i'm really stumped that gorillaz, qotsa, AND lcd soundsystem all got booked there. gorillaz looks to be the only one actually sold out (except for the ridiculous 'platinum seats', lo-f'n-l at that in this venue), but the only available tix for the others are in those side seating areas. and there's a reason for that!

Does anyone remember talk of the old Armory Station in Minneapolis being turned into a mid sized venue?

Not sure if that idea got turned into another condo complex in the downtown area.

Always love QotSa, but they can do a lot better than the Mpls market.

And to add to the fun of getting in there that evening, it is the MN Wild home opener so traffic/parking will be a treat.

    Great show last night!

Very happy with the Palace Theater.  Suprised at how big it is. Good sight lines with the tiered/sloped floor. The sound is good. And the bar was well staffed, almost no wait time to get a beer.

I mean they could play better venues that are the same size. Palace theatre, orpheum, state theatre. They could play Rochester or Duluth and even had a tour ten years ago called 'The Duluth Tour'. It's no secret Roy Wilkins is terrible; the band has played there and they probably know it too. It just seems like a wasted opportunity for all involved.

Where exactly in Duluth would they play?
