    The Black Keys show was underwhelming tonight because 1) I don't know their new stuff ar all and 2) they only played 21 songs with one encore. Come on!! So spoiled by PJ

    Hey there Minnesota crew,

    I'm writing this to ask again for all your help. I know you all contributed your time, goods, energy and funds to making the Wishlist preparty a complete success before the St. Paul show, so I hope this doesn't come as an unwelcome plea for your time, money and good will.

    About a month ago, some friends of ours found out their four year old son Andrew was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. This news was devastating to them, and as they've processed what this new landscape will mean for them, the realistic toll of the disease has become more clear. Andrew turns 5 in January and by age 6, he will likely be wheelchair bound. As unsettling as that is, Andrew's long term prospects are unclear, as doctors now believe there's a good chance that Andrew also has autism. The combination of autism and muscular dystrophy can often be fatal for young children.

    Andrew's doctors have recommended that the family make a number of changes to improve the quality of living for Andrew, not the least of which is buying or building a house that is one level and handicap accessible. As you might imagine, there are few houses for sale with these specifications. Additionally, the family needs to find a wheelchair accessible vehicle very soon for Andrew.

    The family started a fundraising campaign among family and friends to help pay for these significant costs. I can tell you that Darren and Kelly (Andrew's parents) feel very uncomfortable reaching out to others asking for money and help. Much to the surprise of their friends, the fundraising campaign is very much in need of a jumpstart (if you don't ask, how can people know, right?).


    SO...

    I'm asking that anyone who can, please visit Andrew's donation page and give whatever you can, whether great or small. This is a proud Gopher family, as Darren and Kelly have had season tickets for the Gopher hockey team for many years. Andrew himself has graced the halls of Mariucci Arena for many games. Whether Gopher fan or not, this family really needs your help.

    Please consider donating whatever you can. We made the Wishlist preparty a great success and if you've got any goodwill left, please consider donating. If you do choose to donate, think about leaving a supportive message for the family. I personally know that Darren and Kelly are taking this really hard. They could use some love and support from their community, whether from strangers or family or friends.
