Vant thinks Jack White is too hipstery.

I don't, but he is, and for someone so vehemently anti-hipster, he's about as hipstery as it gets. :P

    He is a complete hipster.

Just because he knows where the volume knob is on a guitar is, don't think he isn't a hipster and ever so kooky.

I hope it's true. Come PJ play the X. It'll be nice to walk to a show instead of flying to one!

Oh hells....what happened to the layout?!?!

Getting ready for Midwest tour announcement in newsletter?!?!

Also - did anyone else notice Glen Hansard is here 08/05? Guess we can rule out an EV/GH show here...

I highly doubt the tour announcement is in the May newsletter. Maybe a gentle "is your info up to date" reminder then in early June a more aggressive "do it now" announcement. Weirder things have happened though.

...PJ's YouTube channel still featuring recordings from Midwest shows in 2003...

Not sure if I prescribe to your theory. I think it's just a coincidence.

    ...subscribe...

It seems like too much of a coincidence to feature those particular recordings. It's not like they go through a lot of trouble, it's just the song with a picture slideshow. But I don't think they're not putting those videos up on YouTube for clicks and money, or just 'cause they're nice. I believe it's a calculated marketing effort to get the Midwest excited and sell concert tix! Much like the media push we've been noticing on the radio.

Now if you'll excuse me, The Black Keys are telling me to get my tinfoil hat back on....you have to play the record backwards to hear it.

Remember when the Black Keys weren't complete douche bags?

heh. i guess i wouldn't go that far, but they're a band i've fallen out of favor with. last time i saw them was at the fair opening for the black crowes, and saw a few first ave and bonnaroo sets before that (and dan auerbach's solo show there was great!), but i can't get behind the last couple albums and i have no interest in seeing them at target center.

i'll get the new album when it comes out- they're in that category where i have everything by them and want to give new stuff a fair shake, but i've not liked much of what i've heard yet. to be fair, i didn't dislike it either. it's the black keys, for sure, and is catchy, but doesn't move me in any way.

on another note- have today and tomorrow off. heading up to the brainerd area tonight for fishing opener. hey, pearl jam, come to minnesota and i'll take you out on the lake!

Good luck on the BRD lakes this weekend. Being a from the area I always avoid the opener except for my secret spots. I'm not giving those out... unless anyone in PJ wants to tie into some lunkers. I'd be glad to put you on some fish, you just need to come and play MN!

thanks. a buddy's family all pitched in together and got a cabin at a lake outside of merrifield, lake lougee, last year. we've usually gone to lakes around park rapids, and so this is the first year we'll be fishing in the area.

I use to love the Black Keys. Saw that State Fair show, the First Ave gigs and the solo Auerbach show. Loved them

But holy balls, have they changed and I think went totally down hill. If you guys want to be in a full band, then say so. Stop fronting as a two man group then sneak two random guys on stage with you. Bullshit. And several of the interviews I've seen and read, they come off as complete tool bags. Ugh

    Pearl Jam. Play Minnesota!

The black keys are doing their own thing. It will gain them mainstream attention and also casual fans. I'm not into their new stuff, but they had a good run from 2002-2008.

It took me about six months to pay for the installments, but last week this...

    jojosposters.com/images/PJ1998_minneapolis_web.JPG

...came home with me. I've spent SIXTEEN YEARS hunting it down. It cost me more money than I'll ever admit to spending on a poster...and I don't care because it's mine.

Hey, supper cool poster grab! Skulls, heads and birds seemed to be a reoccurring theme for posters on the LB tour. Just an observation.

    please play MN, PJ.

It would scare you to know that I may or may have had this print tacked up at one time and it may or may not have ended up folded in a box on the way to college. This was the print to my first PJ show...why not ruin it? X_X
