I'm like that old man in the Mississippi morgue last week. I'm not dead! Or like one of those hobbits when he tries to save that kind of good guy from that gross eater man-lord who goes sort of nuts in Lord of the Rings 3 (nerd alert). "He's not dead!"

I wonder what factors determine where PJ plays a show.
if there are more dates in the fall, when do you think they'll be announced?
Believe it or not, I do think they factor in (to what percentage, I have no guess) where they haven't been for a while when they choose tour dates.
I think they:
1. tour where they want (see: NYC/Philly, Europe, South America; well-known to be favorite regions among the band)
and
2. take into account where they haven't been for a while (see: Dallas '13, Atlanta '12).
I think they'll get here, but the fact remains they are playing less shows, and so the periods in between will be longer than earlier points in their career.
I think there will be fall dates, and I think they will be announced 3 months before the first show. That practiced, at least for US/NA dates, hasn't really changed. It's only international/special dates that tend to get really long lead times.

January - February 2, 2014: PJ in NZ/AUS February: off March: off/Matt with Soundgarden at SXSW April: off May 7, 8, 11: EV in SA June 16 - July 11: PJ in Europe July: ? August: ? September: ? October: ? November: ? December: ?
Lots and lots of time left in the calendar year. Matt wouldn't take most of a year off from Soundgarden for two months of PJ. My guess: announcement in May for PJ tour starting with Lollapalooza in Chicago in August. 15-20 shows, a few festivals, St. Paul in September, I-35 corridor (St. Louis/KC, Houston maybe), sprinkle in Toronto and Montreal. That's my guess. My firm belief: there will be shows somewhere more than what we know in 2014. It just doesn't make sense that Matt would make that announcement for 18 shows, all over two months in the first half of the year. So do the math. If my logic is sound, they will tour somewhere else. Where do they tour most? US, Europe, SA, Aus. They played SA in 2013 and EV is there in May. They're playing Europe in June/July and they already played Australia. Unless they spring a surprise Asian tour on us, I think that leaves the US or Canada, probably both. Heads up kids.

Won't be at the arcade fire sow; I'm not a fan. Sadly, I don't have any concerts on my radar. I was going to see QotSA in St. Paul this May until I realized the show was at Roy Wilkins. What a dump.
I am hoping Beck does some shows in support of Morning Phase.
