I went to the black angels show at the fine line last night. Great show. The opening band's singer played sitar on the black angels last two songs. Totally awesome!

Some concertgoers are complete idiots. A random guy snuck on stage to do a stage-dive (at the fine line, mind you) and some guy in the first row was blatantly giving members of the black angels the middle finger, as in arm outstretched over the stage and waving it around. WHAT? I wouldn't be surprised if they never come back to Minnesota. Does that place even have security?

I was at the show and friggin' loved it. I saw that dude stage dive - c'mon man, really?? This isn't a '93 PJ show :D

That really ticks me off that some idiot would flip off the band during their performance. Wonder if there was a reason? I mean, you PAID to get into the show, I'm assuming you WANTED to be there? I will say this however - I went to a Hey Mercedes small show back in the day, and some dude in the crowd was talking shit the entire show to the band, to the point where the band members had an awkward shouting match with the guy in the crowd. I was so pissed at that random dude in the crowd, until I later learned that the guy was in the opening band, and Hey Mercedes were total assholes to his band, didn't take time to soundcheck, asked the openers to cut their set short, etc.

Just sayin - sucks to hear about the random idiot in the crowd, but ya never know, he may have had good reason. Maybe the Black Angels pooped in his Cheerios.

Anyhoo, I'm rambling! GREAT show, went to the Black Angels in-store at the Fetus which was cool as hell too.

Oh, I'm still rambling - PJ, come back to Minnesota, eh?

I do actually...and I've been on it for months. :D

He was flicking them off one by one then laughing. When they came out for the encore he was yelling (with hands up displaying the peace sign) "This ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuules." One of his friends (who was laughing) walked out with the guy before the concert ended. He had to have been high on something or just unstable. I swear some people go to shows to act like assholes.

How awesome was that version of Black isn't Black in the encore? The sitar, the build up the light show, the jam. I wish somebody got that on tape.

I know the head sound engineer at the Target Center, really good skier for an old hippie 8-) . Anyway, no word on any PJ show there as of now. But he did let me know Phish has a show on hold there this fall. Not sure the last time they were there but it's been a few years. If anyone is interested in a ticket or 2 for this show, let me know. I should be able to get something decent from my buddy  :shh: .

Bob Dylan at Midway Stadium 10 days before PJ at Wrigley. This summer is shaping up to be the most ball parks I attend in one calendar year. And I dont really care for baseball. :D

You SHOULD care D! Wilco and My Morning Jacket are two of the top live bands of the past decade IMHO! Seen them both multiple times, never disappointed. I know you'll just be there for Dylan, but I think you'll be impressed by the rest of the lineup.

Anyone else from the forum attend the 3/92 First Ave show? I played a part in catching Eddie as he released himself from the second floor railing onto the awaiting crowd. I had a bum wrist, but I took one for the team!

I know someone who went for the opening band (can't remember the name) and when PJ came out, he listened to a song or two and LEFT!! AHHHHH, I mean, I was way too young to even go to First Ave back then but still, it kills me to hear that story... I wish I would've been old enough and smart enough to have been at that show! :fp:
