  • It's bad enough that Pearl Jam can't be arsed to ever tour the UK for more than 3 dates (if we are lucky) but now one of own home grown acts sees it as more important to tour in the U.S than in the UK.

Your also getting a good few dates with Portishead as well, I assume RH will tour here at some point but I guess it will be minimum and it most likely just be London as that is only place in this country that really counts where big bands are mostly concerned.

Radiohead are only playing two shows- its not a full tour (yet at least).

Now one of my friends says he might be able to get us into the shows :o. I really hope so. I'll be willing to pay the $80 though to see one of the shows. Would love to go to both but money is tight and it will be hard enough getting into one of them.

  • I really hope I can get tickets. I've got a feeling Monday am will be pretty frustrating. Trying not to get excited cause it seems like a slim shot to actually get tickets for either show. But let's hope!

  • The good thing is that there is a 2 ticket limit per household and tickets are will call only....can only pick up the tickets in person. That could be a good scalper deterent, I hope. I really want to go ;)

Fuck. This is way too short notice. 7 months since they released an album, and their first two dates are announced a week before they happen. And the worst part is NY is pretty fucking close to me considering they don't really tour the US.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

They don't seem to like announcing anything anymore. Tour dates, TV appearances, festival dates. I'm starting to wonder if they're going to break up soon.

This would be so cool for my first Radiohead show, I've been wanting to see them so bad at a setting like this.
  • They often don't announce time/dates. Last tour, they announced to the fan club what date the tickets were going on sale, but not the time...they went on sale at like 9:20 in the morning. I guess they figure if you really want to see them, you'll spend your day trying to get tickets. Much like we do for Pearl Jam. My husband was on that day and scored 3rd row center. The best tickets I ever got! Sat with the bands family. It was awesome.
I saw his other band, "Atoms for Peace" at the Roseland a year or so ago. Nice small venue, but everyone was at least a foot taller than me, it was like amazon land. I will be wearing high heels this time, even if it kills me =)

I'm guessing we will be waiting a little longer for a full blown tour. Maybe it will start in Nov?

really? thats what you get from them wanting to be sorta spontaneous??? i reckon its awesome. nothing worse that tix for gigs going on sale months and months in advance of the day and then having to wait all those months before realising holy shit that gig is next week!i almost forgot. id rather go yeah! im seeing radiohead next week!

  • I think they will tour next year. If you can see them in this little venue, it would be well worth it. Make sure you can go though, they make you enter the venue as soon as you pick up the tickets and don't refund if you can't make it. Or let anyone else pick up the tickets. (which is a good thing)

No, this ain't my whole reason for thinking it at all...just the attitude of general indifference since they released the new album. I don't think taking 7 months to play any shows after a new album is very spontaneous, it's actually kind of strange. They just kind of said, "here's an album" and dropped off the face of the planet for 7 months. I'm hoping the upcoming SNL performance and the Colbert special get them back into gear.

And I might just be weird, but I enjoy that sense of having something to look forward to for a while. Makes it sweeter when it finally comes.

are they a good act live? I dont really like their music but wonder if they play it the same way live, cuz I know its not really conventional

Truly amazing live. I had the privilege and luck to be front row, dead center, for two shows at the Hollywood Bowl in 2003 and, as someone who is intimately familiar with Radiohead's entire catalog, I was blown away seeing how they generated some of the sounds on the record up close.

Another show in Boston in 1997 two months after "OK Computer" came out is in the running for greatest show I've ever seen, and that's coming from someone who has had some pretty amazing experiences across 44 Pearl Jam shows.
