I was looking for a link to post in the "first song you heard this morning" thread.
Although I was looking for the original, I was delighted to find this version with Natalie Merchant & Michael Stipe. What a beautiful rendition of "To Sir with Love"

"Wonder", the debut novel by R.J. Palacio, is a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her book “a meditation on kindness”—indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship.

Not un Cultured? Just tragic ally too hip to listen to that whineeeyyy cat orgy noise
Tori Amos, Sarah McWhatever, I can listen too. If it looks like.., smells like.., sounds like.., it must be...
Hovercraft
with lyrics? oh I am laughing too myself
That Hovercraft cd is so funny... oh man...
Electronic music can be good, but (Hovercrap) that was not it..
Aphex Twin? is super.
Daft Punk
Rabbit in the Moon
Squarepusher.. has no beat? it's still more pleasing
If you don't like her music, you obviously don't have a place in this thread and we don't need to know it. Please don't hijack my thread.
P.S: How can you ever compare all these artists/bands? Natalie Merchant is a (folk, alternative, pop) singer, Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan the same, while Hovercraft is an (experimental, psychedelic, space rock) band, Daft Punk is an (electronica, techno, house) band, your super Aphex Twin is an (electronica, ambient, experimental) band, Rabbit The Moon is an (electronica, progressive house, techno) band and Squarepusher is a (drum n bass, electronica, experimental) musician. So, you try to compare alternative and folk music with electronica and experimental? How come? The math doesn't work, does it? By the way, Natalie Merchant's voice isn't an electronic one, but her real, amazing and unique voice.

Oh, I need
The darkness
The sweetness
The sadness
The weakness
Oh, I need this
I need
A lullaby
A kiss goodnight
Angel sweet
Love of my life
Oh, I need this
I'm a slow dying flower
Frost killing hour
The sweet turning sour
And untouchable
Do you remember the way
That you touched me before
All the trembling sweetness
I loved and adored?

Very nice.... she's incredible.
and a standing ovation!
Where in hell can you go
far from the things that you know
Far from the sprawl of concrete
That keeps crawling its way
About 1,000 miles a day?
Take one last look behind
Commit this to memory and mind
Don't miss this wasteland, this terrible place
When you leave
Keep your heart off your sleeve
Motherland cradle me
Close my eyes
Lullaby me to sleep
Keep me safe
Lie with me
Stay beside me
Don't go, don't you go
