*I would have played off the roaches much like unlost...since the people Mr. RK works with are mostly, well...high maintenance.
*when 'going to the washroom' I would have spoken with the manager and added in a little, "this is a very important dinner, and one of the guests is extremely disgusted by the additional uninvited guests that are at our table".
*I would not have taken home leftovers.
*I probably would not go back to the restaurant...ever
*depending on the manager's reaction to my comment, if it was something to the effect of unlost's, I would write a scathing review on one of those comment websites...yelp.com, judysbook.com, angieslist.com, citysearch.com
*the ENTIRE meal should have been comped.
unlost...I hope that if I attend a nice meal with you, a similar scenario does not occur :?
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
You're a bigger woman than I unlost to put up with that crap. I would have freaked the fuck out if I saw a roach on the table. I would have been like that woman on the commercial where the guy has the tarantula picture on his phone. Screaming bloody murder.
I probably would have trampled people to get the fuck out of there. Seriously.

At dawn's early light, I awoke having spent a fitful night plagued by recurring dreams of going back to this restaurant with Mr. Unlost and seeing more and more and more roaches.
I can't believe what the manager told me. I'm going to give the Board of Health a call... I feel bad about it, but honestly, they should have closed down for the night if they were exterminating because things were that bad.
I'm heartbroken, because this has been one of our favorite restaurants for years now. And the people there are very, very nice.
If I see any cockroaches in Wisconsin next week, I am blaming you unlost
I don't think they have roaches in country, do they?!? Unless they migrate out from, say... CHICAGO.
they are everywhere....and remember, there are alot of chicago peeps headed up north and not everyone in the 10c has a clean kitchen.
so I shouldn't eat any homemade anything... :?

I used to work in a kitchen with roach problems- granted, they had the exterminator in every week, but if you keep a dirty kitchen, then the roaches will come back. Let's just say, I stayed a short time- my shortest restaurant job ever. Cleanliness begins with the Chef. If the Chef does not enforce it, then that's not a place you want to work or eat in.
you should have made them comp your meal and pay for the alcohol that you brought.
and thanks...i think i'll be skipping dinner now

I called the Board of Health. They're heading over this afternoon to check it out.
I felt a little like a ratfuck doing that, but honestly, they need to get it taken care of. They really are nice people... :?
Will they call you back and advise you of their findings?
or are you going to drive by in Mr. Unlost's car with a hat and sunglasses on and see if they're closed or not?

"But Matt," she whined, "the tortolinni was really good"
And after this _ I have a lifetime pass for ever being accused of being High Maintenance.
Can I get a witness?

Norm, I was so much cooler than that!
I just flicked it off the table and had some more wine.
When the second one appeared, the wine was gone so I took one of Mr. Unlost's Coronas.
With lime.
And no cockroach.

cockroach AND huey lewis?!!?!? why oh why am i not going?!!?! :( :x
He is getting takeout lunch for his buddies... FROM LAST NIGHT'S RESTAURANT.
I called the Board of Health. They're heading over this afternoon to check it out.

that's my stance
mr unlost still drunk?!? the hell is he going back there??!?! :?
He figures the kitchen must be spotless if the roaches have to venture into the dining room for food.
What I'd do....prior to paying anything, tell the manager of your disgust. See if he'll cut anything off of your bill, then pay and tip appropriately.
Unlost- you tell the best stories!!

He is incapable of resisting the siren call of their signature sub, a chicken cutlet with just a little red sauce, mozzarella, and fresh basil.
Come to think of it... I could go for one of those... :?
He really did go back. And he cannot for the life of him figure out why I thought that was a problem.
The crunchy additions with legs and antennae not so much
the cockroaches?
the Health Dept?
the Chicken Cutlet?
