Really Alpine?

Yeah, not very tactful from a PJ standpoint at all. I will say for the most part that their FB administrator has been very helpful with information about the show all summer. I don't think he/she was very smart to let their tongue slip and let someone have it like that though. I understand why they dread the whole aspect of tailgating and policing and cleaning, but it is what it is. Would I want someone to throw a big party and shit all over my back yard? Hell no, but that's why we go to AV, to do it in THEIR YARD. They get paid plenty for parking, and I'm sure they have an army of staff to deal with it. I can feel some degree of sympathy for what they go through, but a very public forum acting as the sole representative of your respective company or organization is NOT the place to air your grievances. You're in customer service. It's YOUR JOB to get shit on and say "Yes sir, can I have another?"
Just like the whole "11:30 is our curfew, it takes hours to clear everyone out and clean this place up" comment they made. Boo hoo. You have staff or it. Making those statements have sent TONS of people into a tizzy, and they could avoid that by not bitching about the situation and saying something to the effect of "11:30 is our NORMAL curfew time." That leaves it open ended that PJ can and probably WILL pay the fines to play later if they so chose. I highly doubt that PJ and 10C went through such a monumental and thorough effort to consider and plan out the logistics of this event for foreign travelers, etc to get there, just for PJ to play a 2 hour set at the end of the night. I don't think they'll be rocking the fuck out until 3 or 4 AM, but I'd be pretty shocked if they didn't play til 12:30 or 1:30 each night. You don't schedule YOUR OWN gig to get out too early.I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind - E.V.

I liked the comments myself. Let's face it, we (the PJ fans, and I include myself) can be pretty obnoxious at times, and they are getting a taste of that, and not putting up with it. I find it funny that people are posting these obnoxious comments, then getting all uppity about an obnoxious response.
As far as not doing themselves any PR favors, there aren't any competing PJ20 festivals, so they don't need to have a "the customer is always right" mentality and put up with a bunch of shit. Looks to me like they are trying to accommodate people as best they can, but as always, you can't please all the 10C members all the time.
If you're going to complain on the Alpine Valley FB page, just know you are going to get as good as you give, and if you can't handle that, then keep your comments to yourself, tag some photos and play Mafia Wars or something."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -
I get a kick out of this guys posts. This country is being ruined by political correctness. Let the man speak the truth, especially when I read about some of the things assholes do there. Suing for getting sunburned, showing up with 47 of your friends just to tailgate and never going to the show!0

you'll be shocked if they don't play 3 or 4 hours??? cmon... 4 hours... really? how many times have they played 3+ in the last 20 years? yes I understand this would be the time for it to happen... but lets not throw out 4 hours like it's something easy to produce
i'm hoping they play 3 but the amount of energy they put into the show is exhausting i'd bet... but i'm sure if the crowd is right then the band will draw from us
PJ could have started their show at 8 or 8:30 and not worried about curfew0 -

Its crazy how the customer can be as rude as they like, but the business has to be polite. I dont get it.
I'd say customers are wrong about 70% of the time. I never bought into that 'the customer is always right' crap.
T.S. Quint: Haven't you ever heard the phrase "The customer is always right?"
Shannon Hamilton: Let me tell you something. Let me give you a little secret, okay.
[yells it right in T.S.' ear] The customer is always an asshole!

Cringeworthy whining from the Alpine administrator, who clearly needs a vacation or perhaps a transfer to another department.
"We have to deal with all these drunks!"
"People mess up our parking lot!"
"Our medical staff is busy tending to scores of people per show!"
Perhaps they made a misguided career choice. All of the above are issues at every venue in the world, every time a show or sporting event takes place.

We live in a world that is overpacked with negative people who will just complain to make themselves feel better about their own shortcomings.
Anytime you have a gathering of thousands of people, there are always some idiots who are going to cause problems. Sporting events, concerts, street fests, etc.. I just think it's pretty unprofessional for whoever is running the Alpine FB page to go into detail and complain about things that go down. When you're hosting 30-40K people, not everyone is going to be well behaved. It sucks, but its the world that we live in.0 -

you guys are hilarious... the fact that the Alpine fb user seems to know their stuff and FAST leads me to believe when they look up they don't seem too many people above them thus they can be quick and to the point because they are "in the know"0

I love that Alpine has a guy on FB answering questions.
I just wish the answers didn't suck...
