The fact is, my opinions, and my opinions alone are being dismissed as "trolling", b/c some people disagree so strongly. This is the exact opposite of debate. This is censorship.
If that's the case, then that is very unfortunate,
--
But I just want to point this out, you said "I have first-hand knowledge that he was born in Kenya"..Parachute, that is not an opinion.
It is something that should be backed up, but you said you will, so that's cool.
What I do know for sure or at least can say with a good amount of confidence is that Obama is a hypocrite, I base this on him calling for 'change' and then keeping/trying to keep things relatively the same.
Anyone wonder how Obama may in fact lose the popular vote in 2012 but win 270+ delegates? he took 28 last go-round, we all know the dyed in the wool red & blue states, there may be a few more battleground states but dont kid yourself about a rout. upper east coast and west coast will be obama's to lose and he wont...
florida is the fkn wildcard here imo.

I would rather not start a thread on the Birth Certificate forgery Kat. I think that would be too inflammatory for the Train, don't you?
But you are telling me that I cannot call the President something that you, or others, don't like? This is shaky ground, considering the things that you allow other members to say about Bush, Perry, Palin, Bachmann, etc.
Is that the new Posting Guideline? Don't call our President something that "pisses people off?"
I am discussing the issues, and the term Kenyan refers to the place I, and millions of others believe he was born. Marxist refers to his economic policies.
Could you please tell me which rule I have broken here?
And if you insist on this course, could you please start a thread to inform ALL members about this policy? That, I think, would be fair to all and apply to all, and I would certainly adhere to such a policy.
Alright. Proof forthcoming, but I'll need some time to provide the necessary, all important links.
If you want to have a good debate on the subject, I'm all for it, but that would derail this thread.
Tomorrow I will start the appropriate thread- but I doubt my account will last that long.
Think I've touched a sensitive nerve somewhere in Seattle....
As was demonstrated to you by the banning of the term “teabaggers” to describe a member of the Tea Party at your request because it is derogatory, I don’t give a rat’s foot what party anyone is with. The Posting Guidelines are for everyone. If someone refuses to follow the Posting Guidelines and continues with trollish and baiting behavior that makes this forum a problem instead of a place to come to with discussion of the day’s events and politics in mind, they have caused their own account to become read-only.
Some earlier posts below are informational so the Posting Guidelines can be clearly understood when someone may have forgotten that we're all Pearl Jam fans here. It was previously clarified that name-calling about someone’s candidate or political leaders is not ok...no matter what party. People see it as calling them the name themselves and it pisses them off. That’s why it’s not ok here and no one can do it. See below for more and the Posting Guidelines for even more.
Thank you everyone for following the guidelines.

Using labels in a derogatory way here is never ok and could cost posting privileges. If teabaggers is now offensive, it's not difficult to use the term teapartiers or some such. Some elements of some parties try to use the word Liberal as a derogatory slam. Some people use the word Gay as derogatory and a slam and we know that's bigoted. The word teabaggers is not ok now and I do remember when people in the Tea Party learned what it meant after using it themselves...so don't use it now please.
When a topic gets derailed by turning the focus on to the people instead of the topic, well, the topic is derailed so this one has no use and is over.
Come on. The high road has a nice view; stay off the low road in your discourse and discuss the problems without getting personal. Why do you keep forgetting that?

AGAIN. Derogatory terms are not acceptable in these forums. Do a search of your friendly neighborhood moderator's posts for today and see what was said if you missed seeing it on the locked thread.
DO NOT use derogatory terms here. Teabagger is derogatory and adds nothing to the discussion and it doesn't matter if some called themselves that before they knew what it meant. Tea Party members are insulted by it and so you can't do it.

It's not clear what getting your nails done has to do with anything on this thread. The baiting each other has to stop right now or it's going to be very quiet in here...maybe until 2012...which would suit me fine since Pearl Jam are very busy and there's lots to do.
If that is what people want, just remember, it's not going to be my choice; it's going to be yours.

Ask me what I think of name-calling, no, don't. I don't have the time.
It is not appropriate to be calling names of the people you discuss here either...not just each other, not from any party. It doesn't matter which political party or gender or any other criteria. What *is* appropriate is to discuss their politics, their philosophies, the jobs they're doing...and do it with class. Name-calling is just jumping down in the mud and turns this forum into a litter box. You want to play in a litter box? No, I didn't think so.

How many times does it need to be said? No Personal Comments. When you debate, you discuss the topic, not the person you're debating. This is basic. It's the foundation of discussion and if you break that rule, you concede your side of the discussion immmediately. Whatever you say after that means nothing because you broke the #1 rule.
It's your choice to have your account be read-only, not mine. Please remember that and thank you.
Added: Human rights and equality are important issues so I'm going to leave this thread open for now but you all need to get it going in a more appropriate direction. What is the answer to the situation mentioned in that article?
