The roots of PJ started in the 80's, did you know that? Should we give up on them too?

In 1972, singer–blues harmonica player Huey Lewis and keyboardist Sean Hopper joined the Bay Area jazz-funk band Clover. Clover would record several albums in the 1970s, and in the middle of the decade transplanted themselves to England to become part of the UK pub rock scene for a time. Without Lewis (but with Hopper), they eventually became the original backing band for Elvis Costello's first album My Aim Is True. Lewis also worked with Irish band Thin Lizzy, contributing harmonica to the song "Baby Drives Me Crazy," recorded onstage for the Live And Dangerous album. Lizzy bassist/vocalist Phil Lynott introduces Lewis by name during the song.

The band returned to the Bay Area by the end of the 1970s.

I can name a 1000 better bands from the height of the 80's that are way better than Huey Lewis....sorry....

maybe I am missing something here...Thank You God!!!

I wish we could do a poll about who fans would rather see open for PJ20 - QOTSA or Huey Lewis and the News. I seriously believe Huey Lewis wins. Seriously.

Huey Lewis wins hands down…and you know Huey won't threaten any fans in the audience! :)

Dude, you know I'm sensitive about that issue after what Q's lead singer said to me at that one concert.

No, just people who think Huey Lewis should be playing at PJ20...I see he is playing at the ZOO on his tour site...maybe he will fall into the Lions den....while walking on a thin line

goodnight have fun...plus I see Rick Springfield is touring too...have fun Jessie's girl...OMG (I give up)

sorry..I seriously thought this was a big joke..didn't mean to offend anyone ... later

maybe he can sing Yellow Ledbetter to finish the show...I am sure that would do great things for the bands future!!!

Does anyone think Huey would be as potent without the News with him?

    I'm gonna say no.

That movie Duets was great in his parts... But a house band around that thunderous voice was a bit weak.

    Thoughts?

    Yes it's true.
Huey Lewis is "Still Alive", and you will all be so happy when he shows up to lay down his super bad ass saxophone and harmonica licks all over your favorite PJ tunes.

You will all feel the power of love at PJ20!
