  • Winnipeg:

-Winterpeg (so fuckin' cold here in winter)
    -The Peg
-Winnerpeg (when our teams would win)
-Loserpeg (I believe coined by Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan during one of his many interviews about coming here)

    Winnipeg, incidentally, means "Muddy Waters".

I work in Rolling Meadows, and it is affectionately called Rolling Ghettos.

My nearest big city is Sacramento which is often referred to as "River City", which is nice. :)
But my nearest small city is Placerville which is also known as "Hangtown" (yes, as in hung by the neck) which totally sucks! What a lovely thing to be know for, huh? :(

Winnipeg is also referred to that as well, since we are at the fork of two big rivers, Assiniboine and Red, a trading meeting place of old.

However, I grew up in J-Town, City of Steel, Prison City.

    This.

Only thing that comes to mind is that the hip hoppers around these parts like to refer to j-ville as our county name and say it really loud and drawn out > Duuuuuu - vaaaaal. (Duval County, Jacksonville FL)
    It's extremely annoying.

Lynnwood isn't that bad. I work there and it's not the hood by any stretch of the imagination. You forgot the following:
    Tri Cities - Try Shitties
    Bothell - Bot Hell
    Chehalis - Shithalis
    Bainbridge Island - Braindamage Island

I currently live in Fort Myers, FL, which I heard referred to as Fortclosure (due to the housing market crash) on the radio once. Other than that, I can't think of any nicknames.

I was born and raised in a small town - Kernersville, NC - that's commonly referred to as K-Vegas. Yes, it's stupid.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.
