What's your city/town's nickname?

Ok, so Kurt Cobain didn't get a bridge in Aberdeen named after him-they said it was because he was a druggie and bagged on Aberdeen. (Well, who doesn't bag on Aberdeen? ) Don't get me wrong, I love my state, you just gotta love all the little 'quirks' each town has...

What are some 'not so nice' nicknames for your towns?

I'll start you off...

Ocean Shores-Open Sores (our 'dirty' little beach town)
Totem Lake-Scrotum Lake (the 'poor' part of a rich neighborhood)
Bellevue-Hell-vue (where most of the rich folks live)
(there are a few others I can't say here)

feel free to explain the nicknames too....

ok. go.

Cowlumbus. Area was initially a rural type area. Then sprawl happened. There are still a few farms within city limits. But mostly it may be because of the Famous/Infamous Butter Cows at The Ohio State Fair. This years version is "Cows In Space"

Also we're a bit backwards in some of our thinking. Its an odd place really, but it's home.

    Albany, NY "Smalbany"
    Amsterdam, NY "Amsterico"

My fiance is from Mesa AZ and for her its:

    Scottsdale "Snottsdale"

I would rather drink gas then goto the fair. Don't forget the agg farm for OSU kids out there on Sawmill it's funny you drive through a bunches of shopping centers then BOOM a farm.

Circlepill-Do i really need to explain this one?

Chillisloppy-This one has yet to catch on i developed it. Lot of trashy people here and the Mead plant makes it smell like ass here. Not mead anymore but they still make paper.

Nerk- The residents there are so inbred they prounounce it Nerk Ahia instead of Newark Ohio. I hate visiting my friends and parents there.

Hahaha. Aberdeen is a pretty sorry town, indeed. I forgot about 'Open Sores,' haven't been there in a while. Anyway, Vancouver = Vantucky and The 'Couv. (Unfortunately)

My nearest big city is Sacramento which is often referred to as "River City", which is nice. :)
But my nearest small city is Placerville which is also known as "Hangtown" (yes, as in hung by the neck) which totally sucks! What a lovely thing to be know for, huh? :(
