just a head's up on the 10th - I try to go to the film festival every year - you can't really pre-order tickets unless you get some sort of industry in or corp package (like a sponsor connection) - you can buy tickets for movies but you have to basically line up on the morning tickets are being released and hope that your movie still has available tickets when you get to the wicket - there are hundreds and hundreds of regular fest folk who have bought tickets in advance and will pick your movie by default if the ones they wanted are gone - and premiers and galas go first (and they're expensive) - so it doesn't at all turn into a PJ fan thing but more of a festival goers thing - I've lined up in the wee hours for years and never once been able to get the tickets I wanted and no matter how early I go there are a couple of hundred people in front of me, and people come from all over the world to line up with their schedule - there are rush lines but not usually for special event movies - just wanted to let you guys know that it's not at all a fan thing - it's a fest thing and it's really difficult to get the tickets you want
don't want to bring anyone down and I really hope people manage to get their tickets - but scoring fest tickets to the actual movie you want to see is pretty tough
I've seen people buy their block and maybe get one of the movies they were wanting to see at pick up
so best of luck to us all - but be prepared for a long slow line and potential slim pickings
on that note fingers crossed and hope at least a couple of us manage it somehow!
Just got an email from the pretty much the only cinema in Gothenburg that I could figure showing it (they are showing that RHCP live concert) and they said they will NOt show it because they have other arrangements that day and PJ only let cinemas show it on that specific date
They also said that I had to get over to copenhagen to see it - which I guess means Sweden might not get any screenings? (even though an emial from 10C said I should "stay tuned")
Yuck.
10C come on - WILL THERE BE SCREENINGS IN SWEDEN?

I just picked up my TIFF film schedule. PJ20 is premiering on Sept 10th at 2pm. The venue is the Princess of Wales theatre. Given the venue, it's almost guaranteed the band will be there.
For those of you who haven't attended TIFF before and are planning to come out to this, don't count on being able to meet the band at this venue. There's a stage between the audience and where they'll be talking. TIFF will also usually have a car waiting by the back door to whisk actors/directors/band members away once they're done.

Can't catch that. It conflicts with PJ's show that night :-)
With Neil being in town, I wonder if he'll show up at either of the Toronto shows.
I'm from Montreal and I was planning to see the 2nd screnning, since the first one is early in the afternoon. We'll have to leave Montreal at 4-5 AM if we want to get there in time.
Now I'm screwed. :(

FitPearl is referring to PJ20. The second showing is at 10AM. With Montreal being a 5 - 6 hour drive from Toronto, it means for a really long day to catch both the movie and the show in the evening.

i realize that, I was trying to not cause confusion, and ended up causing more. Toronto is going to be very exciting that weekend!
Well, I was planning on lining up all night to get tickets to the premiere at TIFF. WAS! Unfortunately, the premiere is at two in the afternoon! My eight year old son has his house league tournament that afternoon. Don't suppose that because you guys are such an incredible band, that you could convince TIFF to change the time to say, six? Well, looking forward to the show on the 12th, and I guess that I'll have to wait until the 20th to see PJ20. Maybe Ethan would rather go to the movie?

anyway it's all set, we ARE gonna leave Montreal at 4-5 AM.
well, if we can score for tickets!

honestly ... i would wait the 8 days or so and catch it at the movie theatres ... you'll have better picture and sound and you'll pay less to see it ...
it's one thing to try and score tickets to the premier but it's another to make that effort for the secondary screening ...

I never got too much of PJ, sio if we have tickets for the world premiere, we'll se it. If not, too bad, we are gonna see it on sept. 20th(which I already have tickets for).

what time is the presale for toronto premiere..what time Winsconsin i mean..
Haha, as far as I know, there is no 10c presale for the premiere.
If you're just buying a ticket to one film (i.e. not as part of a festival ticket package), then the tickets go onsale on Sat Sept 3. You can buy tickets in person at the Festival box office, or online at the TIFF website, or on the telephone. The Festival box office opens at 7am EST (= 6 am Wisconsin time) on Sept 3, so I'm guessing that online and telephone sales will also start at 7am EST (6am Wisconsin time)... although I've emailed TIFF to confirm this and am still waiting for a reply.
Also note: if buying tickets online or via telephone, the ONLY method of payment that is accepted it VISA - no other credit cards, no debit, no paypal, etc.... (VISA is a major sponsor of the festival and has secured this right for years now, much to my chagrin). If you buy tickets in person at the box office, however, you can use cash or debit card.

Depending how quickly you walk, it'll take you ~15 min to get there. You could always hop in a cab if time's running short.
