Mindi gets her money back and can use as she pleases (find another set of tix, etc). BDV keeps her tix and finds her own ride, or doesn't find her own ride...doesn't really matter. No one's probation officer gets called. No one gets checked into a mental institution. Both threads can die a happy death. Done. Things only have to be dramatic if you wanna make them dramatic.
