Wait till you come down under, it is 101 every day.
We get a few days of 111 F.

That is for those who say us Aussies don't know what cold is!

depends on the part of the country, we are a big country, there are places like Arizona and Neveda where 110 and above is normal. It's a dry heat, but that shit still stinks.

Utah is also in this area and has some brutal, relentless summers at times. Then on the other hand, we have monster winters.

There's plenty of the u.s. that is hot as hell. Phoenix, Las Vegas, Palm Springs can all get 115 + easily and they are very decent sized cities. I was in a town by the colorado river called laughlin once and it was 127. You're right though about those babies in chicago, ny, etc. that start whining its 100 and our makes the news.

The population, blacktop, subways and all that shit make it terrible

If your by the coast it's manageable..... City life sucks in this heat

I really love Adelaide weather. Could pretty much bank on it being hot and sunny every day. 110F on New Year's Eve....but the humidity was so low...it just felt so much less oppressive than it does here. Hot sure...but just not as heavy. The humidity is the one thing my husband is still adjusting to here. Some days it's only 90, but he humidity is so high it feels so much more overwhelming than 110. My hair won't even dry cause the air is so wet! High humidity = crap hair days

It's so hot, I'm sticking my pizza outside the window to cook.

I saw people catching on fire from being outdoors too long.

    8-)

Crazy though, it's about 110 degrees warmer than it was 6 months ago. 8-)

And like people mentioned, it depends what part of the country you are in. If you are in the desert southwest, 110 to 120 can be normal. Ever been to death valley?

But its a dry heat. The damn humidity here keeps the temps from dropping below 80 at night. :?

    serious.

i like the cold better than the hot.

-10 is a bit much, but 20-30 doesn't bother me at all.

I'm the same way. Ideally, 65 degrees is my perfect weather and I'd rather it be warm than cold, but every degree over 80 I just hate and I'll take any winter temp over a 90+ temp.

It's gotten up to 118 already, and it'll hit 120 from time to time.

Yeah, the "dry-ness" of it here helps, but man...115 is still f'n hot!
When your steering wheel gives you 3rd degree burns, that whole dry heat discussion goes out the window! hahaha!
If any of you visit or move to Arizona, and you have a black car...SELL IT! Worst idea...ever! It'll take you a good 20 minutes for your car to cool down, and even then it's still a battle!

the difference is in Phoenix/Vegas when it's 110 or so you can be outside in the shade and it's bareable. it's just the sun beats you down if not in the shade. i was in vegas one year and it was 114. the sun was unbelievable but sat by the pool in the shade and it wasn't so bad. here in the Northeast with this temperature and humidity it's unbearable anywhere outside even after the sun goes down. and i love the summer and most hot weather but this is ungodly. hopefully just another day or two tops of this

What's it like at night? It stays in the 80s for July and August with the same humidity as during the day here in southern IL. The humidity will subside for a little bit after a good rain but thats about it for relief. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to what the actual temps get, but low 100s will feel like 115-120.

I hate the heat and humidity. Just don't like takin a shower and than steppin outside into a blanket humidity and it literally takes your breath away. Sweatin alone would be bad enough, but it feels like somebody smears spit all over you it's so damn muggy.

I don't mind the winters here. We usually have a couple solid winter storms that fuck up the road for a couple days. It's not really a problem unless except for dumbass drivers. The cold itself doesn't phase me really at all.

it's too fucking hot here. we were in Vegas last week...and it was great. sure, the temps were still at or near 100, but it felt like Spring compared to Waco.

I dunno if it's actually the case, but it sure seems worse when there's more vegetation around or you let the grass get a little tall.

Agreed. I lived in Atlanta for 6 months and moved there in May... entering a fucking brutal ass summer, this was right when that drought down there got so bad that people were getting fined for turning their sprinklers on.

Worst heat I've ever experienced. The humidity is unforgiving. Sometimes there was no point in showering because once you went outside you'd be sweating your ass off. The backs of my tshirts were always soaked when I was driving. The A/C never worked that well so I always got on the interstate, rolled the windows down and got in the fast lane. No doubt the breeze helps.

If the temp is over 95, wind can actually make it feel warmer.
