pjfan31, it's really getting bad, I need to keep wiping my screen, it's fogging up on me.
I think I may make a typo with the way it is going.

    That weatherzone site looks unreliable.
Never heard of this site you guys use.
It is like the weather icon on my Windows 7 desktop, it is always delayed by many hours, never accurate.
Use the site I linked, always accurate and current.

I think we are now in the middle of this system as the temperatures have dropped significantly in the last 15 mins to below 0. I got the heater cranked up high.

The extremely cold temperatures often cause many servers to play up, give it a few mins, should hopefully update to show the current temps.

that's what i don't get. every friggen weather sight i looked at had temps in that same range....yet our aussie friends say it's right at freezing. weird
well feezing IS 32f or 0c. so the couple melbourne and Sydney were at -8 and -9 C. Cold but not THAT cold. Add some freezing rain, bitter winter midwest winds and NOW we're talking COLD as a witches titty cold.

around 26.***** to 36.**** and sometimes hotter. Add to that high humidity and it makes for some miserable ass days.

Hard enough proving we are below 0c here, let alone trying to prove we get above the 40c mark.

with what humidity levels? midwest USA usually in the high 80% or higher range. high heat + low humidity = not as bad as the other

lmfao.....-8C? Tough?....Put on a sweater man  I understand that it's not what you're 'used to'...but you don't even need winter clothing for -8C, a couple layers of normal clothes is enough to keep you pretty warm at those temps...
I always have to chuckle a little at how paralyzed some places get by a bit of snow and cold-ish weather. It even happens here in Canada - Vancouver shuts down when it snows, and Toronto calls in the army...to be fair to TO, they do get hammered with REAL winter storms, unlike Van...or anywhere in Australia.
It has now dipped to minus 0 here.
 That cracked me up :)

    I love a sunburnt country,
    A land of sweeping plains,
    Of freezing winter blizzards
    Of ragged mountain ranges,
    Of drought and flooding rains,
    I love her far horizons,
    I love her jewel sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me.

it tops out at just over 40. i would say we get 3-5 days a year at 38 plus or minus a degree. the longest streak of days above 32 was 26 days back in the 1950's. normally we hit 32+ for a a few days to a week and than it cools off.

So we get a bit hotter... summer we'd reach low 40s, mid to high 30s for most of summer

I love that poem, truly beautiful and it paints our harsh and beautiful climate so perfectly.
I remember we had to memorize this poem in primary school.

chicago almost always drops to below -17c and as low as about -23. january avg is -4.7

vegas doesn't get anywhere near that cold. average high is 17 and average night is 1

if you go to someplace like North Dakota (middle of the US by canada) it's plenty colder.

    Blizzard of '96 - 30 inches - in USA.

Quit your damn whining down there - it says 41 degrees in Melbourne. We would kill for that in January. Then basically somewhere around 60 the next 10 days. You call that a winter!
