I don't know if you ever seen Rio's carnival on TV. It's in Apoteose, is pretty much a large corridor. An open flat space with stands on both sides. The "pista 1" is the floor, GA, in front of the stage. The "pista 2/arq" is the floor behind "pista 1" separated by barriers, and they give you the option of staying on the floor or going up the stands on the sides (arquibancada) if you buy "pista 2", no marked seats, 1st come 1st served.
Annaungaretti, Once again thanks for the information.
I reckon Pista 2 with a view from the side seats will be the safest place.
Here's hoping for success in the pre-sale/general sale

I live in the United States and I want to see Pearl Jam in Rio. However to create an account with ticketsforfun you need a "RG" and "CPF" to start an account. How can I buy tickets without those?

RG and CPF are personal identification documents here. RG is the equivalent to ID and CPF the equivalent to Social Security number.
I´d suggest you try your passaport number in the blanks and try again!

here is a map from the Bon Jovi concert: (pista premium = pista 1, and pista/arq = pista 2/arq)
