I loved Speed of Sound it's a must hear. Night two topped night 1. Poster was cool but I liked the classic look of night one better. Good crowd again, seeing Ed the past two nights is a great warm up for me for Alpine.
RITFW?! I can't wait for the LA and Long Beach shows.

Awesome show! Then I got to shake Ed's hand and talk for a brief second at Stanley's. Couldn't get down stairs for the private party, but got to hang out with a lot of 10C members I never met before. What a great night! Talking to my favorite player growing up, Chelios, again was cool too. Great job Ed!

Oh man, so Ed did end up going to Stanley's? I was hanging outside the theater talking with a couple fellow fans that I didn't know, and we were debating whether he might go there or not.
Wish I would have gone, had to get going home though
No time to be void or save up on life, you gotta spend it all.
I NEED to hear one of the recent versions of Falling Slowly... PLEASE! Someone PM me if you have it and can send it my way!!!!!!!
Just hearing a recording will not do it justice. It is simply jaw-dropping to hear/see these two perform this song. Absolutely amazing. Great show...Thanks Ed and Glen.
Great show except for the complete fucking assholes that sat in the section to my left in the balcony. I was 3L row Q so they would have been 2L row Q.
They talked through the whole fucking show. I was irritated and I wasn't even that close to them. Two poor ladies in front of them kept asking the two fuckheads to please shut up and they wouldn't. Finally a few guys behind them threatened to beat their asses and they shut up for about 15 minutes then started up again.

I was a few seats away from you - also 3L row Q - was wondering what the ruckus was about - must have been the threatened beat-down (which would've probably been deserved).

about 10 minutes into EV's set security made one of the assholes follow him to the walkway in the back because he was taking flash pictures
about 45 minutes in was when they about got their asses beat and security came over again. I can't believe they didn't kick them out. Fucking assholes.

Sick show!!! Awesome setlist!!! only complaint...The jerkoff sitting in front of me trying to film with his Droid phone, crowd control guy coming every 5 minutes to tell this idiot he's not allowed to film the show, how many fucking times can he give this guy a warning? get the hell out of the way, I'm trying to enjoy the show! As much as I appreciate being able to see bootleg material on you tube- Find another location to film it asshole! Looking forward to St Louis and Labor Day wkend!
When Ed brought the kids and parents up onto the stage during Hard Sun, the one dude pulled out his phone and started video taping himself onstage. I was kind of hoping Eddie was going to take the phone from him, use it for a pick on a couple of windmills, and then spike it on the stage like a football.
The other parents were cool with their kids though. Liked the guy in back, dancing with his daughter.

I was not able to get ten club tix for the Chicago shows so I acquired box seats on the mezzanine. I was sure these shows would be extraordinary and as reported by the posts on this thread I was not disappointed. The acoustics, the stories, the number of songs performed, the intimacy of these solo shows is something that I hope all true fans get to experience at some point. I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to attend.
However, I really missed the tenclub seatmate/section experience-I was the only one standing and clapping during the highpoints of the show. I am truly grateful for the intensity that the tenclub section brings to my concert enjoyment. Exchanging Pj stories with a fellow fan is a part of the experience I took for granted. Looking forward to the Santa Barbara show-longshot in my dreams experience would be for EV to play "Waiting on a Friend". Last time he performed this song was in the Bowl in 2006-"a smile relieves a heart that grieves".

Okay, so this will probably be a bit of a ramble, but oh well.
This show was a blast. Ed picked a truly incredible set and I was amazed the entire night. I thought the crowd was good, although, its seems they could always be better... ahem, 2 chicks sitting down, on their phones during RITFW. If I hadn't paid so much for my beer, I would have 'splashed' a bit their way... probably a wake-up.
To our section, more importantly the guys sitting next to and behind me- thank you for being awesome. Thank you for letting me be obnoxious and clap, dance, jump, yell all night long (at all the oppropriate songs/times) and also for letting me stand on my seat for the last 4-5 songs. Thank you security for not kicking me out for doing that. Thank you for continuously chanting "ehh! ehh! ehh! ehh!" . Thank you to the person on my right for making me pour my beer all over myself. I needed the cool down. Thank you to the White Sox fan to my left for not saying anything to the Tigers fan on my right... Thank for Falling Slowly. I can't even begin to find the words to describe the beauty of that one.
Thank you Ed for the stories. Thank you for the memories made. Thank you for this amazing experience and the chance to witness it.

Hey, leave that guy alone. I actually talked to him after show and they were still ridng high from the show. I can understand why he had the phone out. That's a once in a lifetime opportunity for those two. His sons birthday was actually was today and they were just so in the moment and ecstatic about the whole show.
The guy with the little girl in the back was actually hanging out outside the venue when Ed's bus arrived. His security guy, Jesse I believe came out right after Eddie came off the bus and gave her a pick. She was so frieking excited!! It was super cool. I would have loved to have talked to them after the show. It was really cool to see dads up there with their kids, what a great moment.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a

What an amazing show!!!! So glad I have the best husband ever and he got us tickets!! He knew how upset I was about not being able to buy them thru all the sales..Amazing setlist..Lukin with strings??? are you kidding me?? that was sick! but hands down Falling Slowly duet with Glen was the highlight!!! I love that song and was hoping they would play together..another wish fulfilled! Thanks Eddie!!!
My only complaint were all the assholes who kept yelling welcome home, and white soxs win..ugh. That and I was amazed by how many people got up during each song..i know beer is important but if Eddie is playing show some respect! it was quite distracting with some many people up and down..but what are you gonna do.
Im just glad I was there..wish I went to Stanleys though..but still another great memory to add to my collection!

I have no complaints about the shows... ever! Getting kicked outta Detroit makes for a good story, too!
Thank you!! I am just thankful for everything this past week. Couldnt have been better!!
This was my 5th time seeing Eddie solo, but my sister's first (she was STOKED, I surprised her with a spare ticket). We didn't have TC seats, which I was pretty bummed about (I had them the night before, 5th row -- THANK YOU TEN CLUB!!!), but her comment was "Dane, there isn't a bad seat in the house." We had floor but, pretty far back. We still had a clear shot of the stage. I don't think anything could have dampened her spirit, seeing Eddie. She knows all the words to every Into the Wild song, and has followed Pearl Jam's career vicariously through me since 1992 (she is 3 1/2 years younger). She was just thrilled to be in the same room as Ed, and just really wanted to hear Society. :P
Realizing that Glen Hansard was "the guy that sings that song?!?!?!" made the night even better for her, and when the two came out to duet Falling Slowly, she was in heaven. Other really sweet highlights; Crazy Mary...a song that she and I sing A cappella together when we are bored on car rides...my niece (her daughter), thinks it's hilarious. Let My Love Open The Door gave me goosebumps. I was hoping he would play that. Off He Goes is a song that reminds me of my Grandpa, and one of the reasons I stood in line for 10+ hours at the Vic to get front row. I really wanted to see/hear that song up close and personal and had a feeling they would play it that night (at the Vic)...and they did..and he did (at the C Theater). My sister and I had a tear over that one. And I got to hear Rise, again, which is one of my favorite songs in the world. That man knows how to write 'em.
I sat next to an older man, in from Hawaii who bought Uke songs on a whim. He had never seen Ed, and only vaguely knew of Pearl Jam. He was sooooo nice, and we got to talking. He was asking me some questions on the history of Eddie, the band, etc. So in between songs, or if I knew which song was coming up, I would do a little "Storytellers" thing and give the guy some backround. He was SO appreciative of that and told me that I made the show more enjoyable for him. He was standing up and clapping along and would turn to say "Wait now, they toured with the Rolling Stones?" He also read Into the Wild and saw the movie and loved the soundtrack...but had NO idea that Ed did the music. So it was pretty magical watching his eyes get huge when Setting Forth started. He put two and two together and turned to me slowly...I was like..."yep." When I was trying to jump out of there after Dream a little Dream, he grabbed me and gave me the biggest hug and shook my hand and said "thank you so much, I am so thankful I sat next to you." It was cute.
Anyway, this is long. Both nights were fantastic. I got to go to night 1 with a new friend and night 2 with my best friend, my sister.
I'm not lost, but I don't know where I am...David Byrne, Talking Heads
Regal Theater, 1994--most amazing night ever.

I was really happy to have heard Around the Bend, it is such a great song for his solo acoustic shows!

ahhh, i think we talked out front right before the show. props again on the shirt.
The other parents were cool with their kids though. Liked the guy in back, dancing with his daughter.
Thank you for continuously chanting "ehh! ehh! ehh! ehh!"
Thank you Ed for the stories. Thank you for the memories made. Thank you for this amazing experience and the chance to witness it.
Hey, leave that guy alone.
The guy with the little girl in the back was actually hanging out outside the venue when Ed's bus arrived. His security guy, Jesse I believe came out right after Eddie came off the bus and gave her a pick. She was so frieking excited!! It was super cool. I would have loved to have talked to them after the show. It was really cool to see dads up there with their kids, what a great moment.

arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
ride"!

Classic! I'd rather read fifty posts like this than all of the threads and posts that only want to bitch about things like old senior citizens. What a show!
Dang, I was thinking about going to Stanley's after the show, but I didn't do it. I'm kicking myself now!!
Me too, great post ! Glad you had such a great time
Thank you!! I am just thankful for everything this past week. Couldnt have been better!!
Regal Theater, 1994--most amazing night ever.

Awesome! Thanks! For whatever reason or reasons reading this totally made my day!
Me too, that song almost made me cry. I was so excited to hear it live!!
