Disneyland is world renowned in "spectacular recovery." Surveys repeatedly reveal that people who experienced a problem during their visit had a HIGHER overall satisfaction level than people who had no problems at all. Because da Mouse works extra hard to make it right, to compensate folks for inconveniences and screw-ups. Folks talk about the spectacular recovery, more folks are less concerned with booking large trips knowing if something goes wrong, da Mouse will make it right.
My only experience -- Peter Pan breaks down, kids are in car in front of us suspended in air for 5 minutes, cast member walks into room and keeps 'em company the entire time, supervisor hands us, completely unprompted, before I could open my mouth, an "instant on" pass to any ride in the park the moment we exited the ride.
They are the model of customer service that all companies seek to emulate in this regard. Just sayin -- a letter of regret is simply bare minimum. 10C could throw a shirt, a poster, a store credit at these incidents with out a blip on the bottom line -- unless it's a lot more rampant than we're hearing....
Reputation is hard to build, easy to destroy.

I studied some law in college, now its been some time since i've graduated college so my memory may be a little cloudy but it goes something like this.
Disney is ultra powerful, i believe they have their own township or something or other in Florida that essentially allows them to make their own 'laws'... i remember studying one such case where a tray of hot coffee was spilled by a waiter on a small child. after all the rigormaroo with the family, disney still couldnt 'compensate' them enough... the family ended up suing. disney flexed its muscles and ended up counter suing-and winning with regards to something with the family being wreckless and smearing disneys character.

I was pleased, but almost deserved it after all of these years..hey I had some ahhh seats w/ this # in the past..I again thank you TEN CLUB
You mean other than being to 20 shows before and knowing where my seats usually are and then being in the last possible fan club row all of a sudden with 30 people who have the same 164xxx fan club number. Sitting behind a group of 6 people who said they bought the tickets in front of us that morning on ticketmaster. Having a fan club member who has a 404xxx sitting 5 rows in front of us. My cousin who has a 181xxx at the show sitting in a non lottery sec 103 seat. All conjuncture huh?
You've been to 20 shows and always had good seats thanks to the 10 Club? How about a little gratitude for their previous 95% success rate?

If you think all 20 shows were seniority based you are kidding yourself. I think I have been to maybe 2-3 shows that were seniority based fairly. The block system sucked prior. Get your facts straight.

Not when they tell you that the tickets are seniority based and I had the worst fan club seats handed out. I had seats that were behind seats that were bought on ticketmaster the day of the show.

Ah, great. So all these fans with bad experiences should just suck it up in case 10C tries to counter-sue them? Not sure of the relevance...
Yes, Disney's ultra powerful, yes, they're the most vigilant brand enforcement oriented company on the planet. You have one case to share, and there's definitely more, folks going after deep pockets and what not, but again surveys repeatedly, repeatedly show the higher satisfaction of experiencing a spectacular recovery. Along with those, I have mine and many other friends and families' stories of Disney comp'n folks for the slightest inconvenience -- which I kinda thought was relevant to the thread....
Yes, Disney has the money to throw freebies at folks no prob -- but their staff's attitude while doing it is part of the factor as well. They seek to make things right immediately, which your "case" alludes to as well, they sought to make it right.
Accidents happen. Now what are you going to do about it?
I don't understand the mentality of people on this board sometimes. Here is a user who went through the trouble of keeping his/her ten club membership up to date for 10+ years, went through the trouble of purchasing 10C tickets online when they went on sale, picking up tickets, etc... and gets SCREWED by far away seats equal to that of someone who bought them on ticketmaster the day of the concert...
and what do your friendly neighborhood Pearl Jam fans do? Tell them to get over it, quit complaining, and be happy they were even at the show. Wow.
Dude, I feel for you. That would suck. I have a 130,000 number and if I had those seats for the one show I was going to, I would be fucking pissed off, too! There should be no reason to make a mistake like that; the fan club has been doling out tickets for a number of years now, and if they can't figure out how to do the 4 lottery rows along with keeping all the non-lottery-winners in order by their number (SENIORITY remember?), well...they should be able to do it. And I hope this person with the unfortunate luck at least got an apology from ten club directly, if not something in return for having to pay to sit at the back of the reserved section.
Sorry you went through that and sorry people here are so unkind to other fans so often.

I agree with you, he has a right to be pissed off - but shit happens. If Kat came on here and said, "Hey, some things got screwed up and we are really REALLY sorry!" what would it change?? You still had shitty seats and it is too late to fix it now. At least you know that you weren't alone and singled out...it happened to a whole group...accept that it was a mistake and get over it.
You are dealing with a small group of people (10C) that is trying to keep thousands of people happy...and that isn't always going to work.
Comparing the 10C to Disney is like comparing my 3 year olds Hot Wheel to a Mercedes Benz...
I truly believe that the 10C is doing the best they can. A lot of times they get it right...sometimes they don't - and then they get to come here and read bullshit from everyone....even the people who weren't involved.
What is the alternative? Folow the path of U2 and simply disband the fan club?? Let all the fans hope for the best with TicketMaster?? No thanks.
Some of you people are such babies, not only do you snatch up tenclub seats in other peoples cities, but then you complain that your seat is not good enough. For 20 bucks (15 most of the years) some of you act like the band owes you something and that it should be repaid by closer seats.
The tenclub can do whatever they want with the seating, and if giving people with high numbers a chance to be close for one show is such a big deal to you than you need to check yo self before you wreck yo self.
The tenclub is doing a good thing, giving the fans that have never been close a chance to be up front. Maybe the bad is just tired of staring at all the bald spots in the front row ;-) Those who are THAT upset can just not pay their 20 bucks next year.
The comparison to Disney is simply to point out what a world-class organization would do, what you might want to consider doing if you wanted to emulate the best in the biz, if you wanted to build and preserve a stellar reputation.
That's just the way I approach these things, seek to emulate the best....
If I wanted to build a guitar, I would track down the best luthier I could find to learn from -- not the kids at the craft camp building bird feeders....
i agree with you williedog about the "snatching up ten club seats in other fans cities". i kind of like the old ticket system, where you you could only buy fan club tickets to one show. i live two hours from las vegas, so that is the only time i get to see pearl jam. in 2000 for the 10th anniv. show i had 13th row center and it was awesome! then when they changed the ticket system i had seats on the side in the risers about half way back for 2003 & 2006. i have been a ten club member since 1995.
if you've got a number that low and only gone to two shows with fair seniority then there is something wrong with you............
It is now a week later and you are still here complaining? If I was them, I'd pull your tickets already as they sent the notes, and even if you didn't get a response you saw the form letter they will send. You almost had lawn seats is your major complaint but the fact is you didn't have them and be happy you didn't.......I've been to a few shows where people got better tickets off ticket master and it's just a fact of life.
