As surprised as many of you are there are today this is what happened to me when the verdict was about to be read. I had hardly any interest in this case but it's Florida and I'm here with a fiancee who was obcessed with this case. I'm listening to the radio today and ALL the stations stopped to here the verdict LIVE. I didnot want to hear it so I turned on my cd player and this was the very first song that came up....

    METHOD TO THE MADNESS

    Heaven is burning
    No birds sing
    Heaven is burning
    It’s a silent spring

    Party is over
    The circus has left town
    It’s the morning after
    And you’re coming down
    Down
    Down

    Hell is frozen
    Crashing dreams
    Cities imploding
    Worlds unseen

There’s a method to the madness
Like there’s a reason to this rhyme
    The ultimate weapon
    The perfect crime

    Take me by the hand
    Don’t you know
    The dammed don’t cry
    I can get so low
    That I am high

There’s a method to the madness
Like there’s a reason to this rhyme
    The ultimate weapon
    The perfect crime

There’s a method to the madness
Like there’s a reason to this rhyme
    The ultimate weapon
    The perfect crime

Listened to the song and the rest of the Living Colour album then waited for everyone else to call me to tell me what happened. I was the same way with OJ disinterested in THAT case too. In the end it's sad that no one at the moment will pay for little Caylee's death...NO ONE.

BTW I expected her to be found guilty but am I surprised she was found NG....HELL NO! Nancy Grace is going to have a nevous breakdown not over the decision but the mountain of money Casey is going to make from ALL of this court proceedings.

  • seems pretty open and shut to me. all the evidence proved was that she didn't give a shit that her daughter was missing, nothing more. frankly, I'm kind of surprised this even got to trial with the lack of any hard evidence.

did she do it? who knows. and that means "not guilty".

I didn't watch the trial... don't know what evidence was presented... what evidence was excluded. I know that the media gets to present more evidence to the public than the prosecution gets to argue to the jury. I don't know what exclusive evidence the jury had to pass judgement on.
Therefore... I cannot judge either way. All I can do is guess.
    ...
The one thing I do know is this... we will never see the end of Nancy Grace.

I was flipping the channels and her hideous mug was on. She was yelling at the cameras "TOT MOM WON'T TESTIFY IN HER OWN DEFENCE! TOT MOM BLAH BLAH! TOT MOM BLAH BLAH!". She said the phrase TOT MOM about 34 times. I don't know much about her, but how can people watch her without getting angry?

i thought nancy grace was going to blow a gasket but some other loud mouth took that honor as her show started. i just started paying attn to this story a week or so back and have to admit, the decision surprised but like others have said, lack of evidence and some poor prosecutional work=acquital.

So... all you guys are seriously surprised by the verdict? There's no way a jury would find her guilty with the lack of crucial evidence! And there's no definitive proof of how the toddler died, either. Too many holes all around.
I agree with both of you... "proven guilty" never happened, not by a long shot. It's sad that Caylee may not get justice, but it's kinda nice to see that the jurors did their job properly.

    It is sad.

Does anyone know if this was the type of case where the jury had to be unanimous?
I was under the impression that death penalty trials had to be beyond a reasonable doubt/unanimous.
Could they have reached an agreement on manuslaughter without the entire jury?

Well regardless, it will be interesting to see how her life plays out. I think she'll need something similar to the witness protection program or move out of the U.S. then again, every damn tv station will likely be throwing tons of cash her way to hear her 'story' (or lies).. lets see how greedy she really is. :x

^^More upsetting to me than the actual verdict is if she is able to profit from this in any way. That will be more telling of this country (and her) than the verdict. And speaking of Nancy Grace, she should do an interview with her now!

Eh, just her lawyer telling her, her options... Since her lawyer is feeling confident now, why not try to go for everything they can get? Typical...

Mark my words, she will be a millionaire by this time next year due to interviews, stories about her life, etc. That is...if she is still around. I just read today about some lady in Oklahoma getting attacked by a nutcase that thought she looked like Casey Anthony. Here's a quote from the victim, "She said that I was trying to hurt babies, I was killing babies and she was going to stop it before it happened again,"
I'm pretty sure there's more twisted people like that out there that got WAY to emotionally involved in all of this bullshit.

edit: here's the link to that article http://www.news9.com/story/15084225/woman-mistaken-for-casey-anthony-attacked

I would like to strangle her and I'm a pretty nice person

she will need bodyguards for awhile

but she is all about herself so she might even enjoy the attention...
    even if it is despise

I refuse to watch anything about her...I will not buy a book or a magazine
watch any future interviews or movie deals
I turn the news channel to another if they say her name

none of my money will ever go to this bitch

and I still don't get no punishment for whomever treated this little girls body like it was garbage
if indeed it was a pool accident
someone needs to be punished for this here and now

I think she's gonna get herself in trouble in the next handful of years. OJ couldn't help himself either from getting into trouble from his own ways.

...I'd like to think it was an accident using Chloroform to knock her kid out while she went dancing, but then why the searches for how to break a neck? Oh well... there's probably a number of innocent people in jail, so it all balances out I guess.

I feel the same way. I hope people across the world boycott this animal from ever getting a dime for interviews or books, etc..

About the pool accident, thats what I keep asking myself.. I wish they would've put her on the stand during the trial and asked why Caylees body ended up in the woods. or ask about 'neck breaking' search. Fuck Casey Anthony, she will get bad, bad things...thats whats coming to her I bet.

turned the channel this am... I don't think JB much liked that but I
left NBC for awhile when her story came on....
    it was a long while....

came back and then they had a panel discussing her... damn them.

Don't give her the time of day or one red cent.

She is a horrible moment in our history. Nothing more.
She deserves nothing but punishment for not protecting the body of her dead child,
this at the very very least.

I never watch reality shows or get caught up in this kind of thing, but I think many of us just want to hear it from her lips.. if she did drown, why was her body dumped and all the partying? Maybe its the contrast of an attractive woman with the personality of a monster -- its hard to believe she could do what she did..especially after seeing the pictures all over of that beautiful little girl before she died.

I don't know Pandora, but I think you need to turn the tv off! We know how much you hate the woman, but if you didn't "stay tuned" you wouldn't get yourself so angry over it. I think this is also the problem for others who are obsessed with the case. They need to stop watching and resume their lives. Life is too short to get wrapped up in court cases that were unduly glorified to begin with.

I didn't follow the case at all and foolishly thought she would be found guilty.
Yes but many were very involved.
I don't stay tuned at all to any news of her and rarely watch the news at all
except with JB in the morning, the Today show, which he likes.
I cry if I watch the evening news... the world is a damn mess.

We watch no more than 2 hours of TV a day, which is not excessive I don't think and enjoy the
being lost in entertainment. Don't want to give up that entirely.

Very guilty... very much pleasure

I wish this was only a reality show, the reality of this is damn scary.
Our society is truly moving toward depraved.

From the start I thought she had a personality disorder.
She is detached, calculating, a lier, perhaps incapable of love or even having a conscious.
Being all about herself which is a danger to a child.

Good point though... if she wasn't so attractive would she be getting all the attention.
Another clue to our messed up world....

The problem with this story is that even if you don't watch the trail, it's all but impossible to ignore due to the coverage. Its the same with American Idol ... I've watched exactly 2 minutes of that show yet I'm usually aware of who is in the running.

Maybe that's why it drives me nuts ... I'm forced to watch the insanity.

I thought this last season was very different.

We had the runner up here local and we never had any news on the show or about her.

I wouldn't have even known who was in the running if I wasn't watching the show.

Funny, I have the same problem Jason. I dont watch Idol at all...and I watch about 10-15 minutes of news while I get ready for work in the mornings and they always have American Idol updates.. Sometimes I find myself asking "is this really news?"...but then again, I guess its better than most of the other depressing death and murder you normally see on the news..I have been slowly starting to avoid the news, Just as Pandora has said..it makes me feel like the world is a damn mess. I aways ask why its not labeled 'bad news TV'...
