I have a follow up with my surgeon today.....I don't expect anything too earth shattering to come out of it.

I have GOT to get this numbness taken care of. It's driving me crazy and seems to be getting worse; not better. I may have to try the acupuncture route because the drug isn't working at all

Maybe try walking on a bed of nails?
    Sounds a lot cheaper. :P

Srsly neuropathy is bad bad bad. Many of the folks I work with have it and it makes their lives miserable. Hope the doc has some suggestions for you.

nothing too earth shattering...he said I looked great  and was due for a colonoscopy :x

I was kinda down last night....it's seeming like maybe I didn't "beat" cancer, after all. maybe it beat me. I'm alive  but, shit, my hands and feet don't work and there's the whole colostomy thing. this shit changed my life forever. I'll buck up and hope that either the gabapentin or acupuncture can get my feet and hands going again...

thanks, buddy. I meant to mention the surgeon said some people NEVER get feeling back in their hands and feet. that's what had me bummed out. I'll have to not be "some people."

    :(
I'm with Norm, it will take some time to get past the whole chemo thing. This crap really did change your life but I'm really, really glad that you're still alive! I think you've made a big difference in a lot of people's lives with your honesty about this and I hope that means something to you. I have a feeling you've affected more people than you could ever know.

I've been thinking about you, Rob, maybe it's watching the Giants (and hoping they win today) or maybe it's just how brave you were to post your journey on here. Like Who Princess said, you've really affected people. We cried for you and prayed for you, cheered at your good news. And I also think your honesty in talking about what you're going through, just think of the people who won't put off a colonoscopy or a physical now. That's a pretty amazing thing.

I admire you a lot. Now if you were a D***er fan...

(That's not true. I would still admire you.)

Rob, even though things have changed drastically, you are still alive. Yes, you beat cancer. Yes, you are hurting now. However, I don't know anyone who one walks away from the fight of their Life without being battered somehow. Most people also learn and teach the best things about Life during that time.
Rob, you taught me to be positive, to be strong and to be humble no matter what happens.
Thank you for being you. Lots of love, light and hugs today and always. XO
