    Just checking in to see how you've been doing and how you're feeling. Still have the tingles? See the hippie dippy accupuncturists with the free zucchinis? Wearing petuli oil yet? How was the NY System weiner sauce mix and Del's Lemonade with the vodka? :roll:

    The silly season is almost here but we get to bust our guts next week first. I hope you have great plans for getting stuffed!

    For those of you unrefined enough not to be in the know, the weiner refers to NY System weiners, of which I had sent Rob a spice pack to add to some grilled hamburger meat. They're quite famous in Little Rhody and delicous as well. So, get your minds out of the gutter :nono: But I do have to say, you guys crack me up and this continues to be one thread I look forward to reading. Particularly, seeing that Rob was defined as "healthy."

    I hope everyone here has a great Christmas, stays safe and healthy, and we can meet up in 2013 at a Pearl Jam show!

    the golf couse is under about 4 feet of snow. I have another cushy county rec job at brighton ski area. I'm seasonal :mrgreen:

    right after missoula, I went on a fly fishing retreat for guys who had or have cancer. the coolest guy I met was 45 years old and had a melanoma inside his mouth :shock: . at the time, I thought he had this beat. yesterday, I got an email from him:

    "The PET scan showed that the cancer has NOT spread to any other areas of my body. But the 3 original tumors have grown excessively. The largest tumor is 5 times the size it was 3 months ago. On top of that, 2 more tumors have been detected. So the doctors think I have about 6-9 months to live, with or without treatments. They have no evidence that further treatments would sustain my life. So I could die miserable going through treatments, or live a good quality life for the months I have left."

    45 years old.....absolutely terrible :cry: ....I will count my blessings.

    i found out recently that one of my best friends from high school has cancer. he had a brain tumor removed a few months back. i believe he's starting his 3rd round of chemo pretty soon...

    I almost feel guilty about skiing and drinking beer yesterday. :shifty:

    good luck to your friend. I did chemo for 6 weeks (24/7) and later for 24 weeks. it sucks....but it also can work.

    Very sorry to learn this. He seems to have a good outlook. That kind of perspective always amazes me and makes me wonder how I'd respond in that kind of situation.

    my god. i cannot even imagine what that is like. not scared of many things in this world, but the thought of getting any kind of cancer scares the crap out of me.
