I see the doc in a couple of hours. things have been going well....better with each passing day :mrgreen:

    the chemo guy had some good news/bad news yesterday.....but I see my surgeon this afternoon (god, these appointments suck), so I'll save the medical update...

    another package arrived yesterday....once again, blown away and, once again, great stuff :mrgreen: . Lauri (pink butterfly?) went waaaaay overboard and sent me the PJ20 book and soundtrack :mrgreen: . must be some kind of cosmic karma that I hadn't already bought them....cuz I'm as much of a PJ whore as anyone :shock: . Enkidu sent me an orange and black (Giants, baby!) picture frame made from recycled elephant poo :shock: . It's cool. and finally, I got a St. Peregrine charm which I will forever carry on my key chain. He's the "patron Saint of cancer suffers."

    With friends like you, there's little "suffering".....just "tolerating" made a LOT easier by your kindness :mrgreen:

    I'm glad to hear the box made it safe; I got in a bit of an argument with the PO clerk and I was slightly concerned she was going to burn all the packages I was dropping off that day :lol:

    It's been nearly five weeks since my surgery....time flies when you're having fun!

    Yesterday, I saw my chemo guy. Good news and bad news. The good news is he said the side effects of my next round of chemo were "only" numbness, tingling, cold sensitivity and maybe a little breathing difficulty :shock: . Of course, every bad side effect known to man is included in the "possible" side effects. I'm hoping for the best. This next round is 3 kinds of chemo in one; known as Folfox. I'll be hooked up for 48 hours, every other week. Judging from my bloodwork, the chemo doc said I looked "great, on paper." Yeah, they said that about the Red Sox too :lol:

    The bad news is that the chemo lasts for 24 weeks. I said, "24 weeks?? That's half a year!" He gave me the "no shit Sherlock" look. So, my surgeon was pretty accurate when he said this whole thing would take a year out of my life. I start the new chemo on Oct. 19.

    Speaking of the surgeon, I saw him today and he said I looked great. He seems pleased with everything so far. He also snipped the last of the stitches from my butt so I'm done with him for awhile.

    all in all, with the shitty hand I was dealt, I'm playing these cards pretty well :mrgreen:

    I was amazed when I was over at the ads for medicines on the tele giving lists of possible side effects etc... we don't have that here, the pharmacy tell you or you read the leaflet :lol::lol::lol:
