That is weird though...I try to figure out movie/show locations all the time. Thought I was the only one that did that. I think it's from playing Where in the World is Carmen San Diego on my Apple IIC when I was younger. Loved that game and Micro League Baseball

i love doing this as well. see a skyline in the background and can't stop thinking about it till i figure out where it is.

hub...where do these channels come from?

i remember back in high school when everyone admitted they shed some tears watching it

kevin arnold turned into such a tool during his teenage years though. i prefer early wonder years than the latter ones. they're all great though.

Yeah, but I think a lot of us were jerks at times during our teenage years, maybe that was the point. The last one I watched most recently was where they heard the Stones were playing at a dive and drove all over town looking for it. I agree that they are all awesome. When I think about the early ones, I think about Becky Slater, lol. I used to be glued to my t.v. whenever this show was on back in the day, I didn't miss an episode.

It just seems like a random song to use. I mean lyrics work with it but the music doesn't seem like it.

In terms of top episodes, I loved the one when Kevin goes to Jack's office. In the later seasons, the episode when Wayne and Wort enlist in Vietnam is very good, mainly because it shows that Wayne is not really the butthead he acts like throughout the entire series. And the one when Wort struggles after returning from Vietnam is very poignant.

the whole show is one of the best shows in history. it set the stage for later brilliant shows like scrubs, which tow the line effortlessly between humor and heartbreaking drama.

The show was at once hilarious, and then could make you cry. The writing team was some of the best in history. The first episode of the entire series, Brian, Winnies brother dies in Vietnam and its one of the most touching scenes ive ever seen on tv or elsewhere.

check out this youtube of the pilot. watch from 2:43 on. Its pitch perfect. the writing, the acting, the looks given, the feeling. So goosebump inducing.

As a writer and artist, this is what i aim for. To have that kind of impact. I saw these episodes as a kid, and have seen reruns of course, but i remember each episode like it was yesterday.

    Brilliant show.

These are the kinds of shows we need on tv today!

i also think when i became a hippie, the shows depiction of it was very much in my head and mind. that scene in one of the first episodes with karen and her boyfriend, talking with jack about vietnam and how the boyfriend had to go to canada to escape the draft.

most of the shows or art ive been attracted to has always been this mix of hilarious scenes and humor with just hearttugging scenes. Few shows seem to do that, but this one is pretty much the archetype

The part I remember most from the pilot is the apple throw. But them finding out about Brian is also one of the most memorable scenes in the series.

i think the wonder years is a perfect example of how art can change lives. i cant explain how it changed me, but im different and who i am today because of this show. When your small, a kid and growing up and this is a show on tv, a show you anticipate watching each week, i do think it changes people, it changed me. rearranged your dna and the fiber of your being.

To me, this is more than a show. And again, i credit this show, for being a spark. in my own art, i hope to achieve something like this show. to effect people, years later, years after the show has ended, people still care about the show.

Agreed, if you haven't seen The Naked Gun, rent it now. Just be careful with any beverages, as they might come flying out of your nose. Don't feel compelled to rent any of the sequels though, they pale in comparison to the first.

As for the thread topic, I haven't seen The Wonder Years, or the finale since it was originally on. The only thing I remember about the finale was the voiceover near the end saying something about the dad dying of a heart attack not long after, and the fact that Fred Savage was starting to look VERY awkward. By the end of the show I think his voice was just one long puberty crack.
