Of course he does - everyone deserves a fair trial. To even contemplate otherwise is completely wrong.0

What if it was your daughter? would your opinion change? The problem is that he will get a fair trial, his lawyers will say that he is a victim of society and will be back out on the streets in less than a year. Lets hope he doesn't move in next door to you.0

No it wouldn't. Get a halfway decent prosecution lawyer.
I would also question this:
""The pool where he approached the girls is actually a family pool where parents are in there with their kids and he had no right to be there. He had visited the centre by himself.
And no one suspected/noticed anything untoward? A busy family pool?0 -

Here here, at last someone that agrees with me!
To the others who are all for a fair trial and a 'civilized' approach to dealing with this sick f***......
Did that poor girl (who will now no doubt suffer mentally for years from this crime) get the chance to receive a fair trial before she was sexually assaulted and had her life turned upside down?
If he did that to anyone in my family I would hunt him down and kill him before he gets the chance to go to court.
In court he will say he suffers schizophrenia/depression/anxiety, had an alcoholic father, broke up with his girlfriend bla bla bla and get a lenient sentence, our judges are weak here in Australia.
What if it was your daughter, sister, niece, cousin?
Would you be claiming give the guy a chance?
Would you be so calm?
I don't care what year it is dimitris, a crime is a crime.
Gee why do I even bother on AMT :roll:Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140 -
Do you have any idea what will happen if we start to do away with fair trials? Any what so ever or are you really that narrow minded? Perhaps you should do some research into countries and cases that don't have fair trails and then get back to me on whether people deserve them or not.
It's quite clear he is guilty so it doesn't look like he will not get convicted but I think your problem might be more of the punishement side not the trial. There definatly is a 'more rights to the crinimal than the victim' mentality these days but doing away with fair trials is just plain down right stupid
The punishment however is something more worthy of a debate.0 -

If the judge doesn't punish him with a harsh sentence, prisoners will deal with him when he is inside.
Pedophiles and child rapists get bashed inside here in Australia it is widely known, and I know a guy who works in the prison system who confirmed this.Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140 -

Hopefully this sicko is seen on the street soon and dealt with.
When it comes to children sickos do not deserve fair trials.Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140 -

"better 1000 guilty persons out of the prison, instead 1 innocent in the prison"
everybody must have fair trial..and for sure Pedophiles and child rapists must have the biggest penalty..

people must have a fair trial. if he gets off it will be because if a technicality such as:
botched evidence collecting
botched booking procedures/admissions without attorney present/coerced tesitmony, etc.
or just a shitty prosecution attorney.
i doubt a jury would be sympathetic enough to this guy to let him off all willy nilly like some people suggest.
the legal system is there for a reason. the guy is already guilty in the court of public opinion, but that does not count. what counts is what happens in a court of law. if you have a problem with the system then change the system."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

To address the OP question, yes, he should get a fair trial, as should everybody. That said, this guy, if it's his first such offense, will probably get essentially a slap on the wrist (maybe a brief prison stint), and have to register as a sex offender, and move somewhere else where nobody will be aware of his history, and continue to do this. So, in reality, I'm afraid, even a 'fair trial' is not going to change the eventual outcome (re-offending).0

Not winding anyone up.
The guy ran away it is obvious he is guilty.
I did not say we must get rid of fair trials, only in cases such as this one where there is proof and a child is involved.Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140 -
