"Harvey Leeds, Harvey Leeds, get outta my fuckin face."
"Well I guess we're not on the radio so we can start fuckin around now."
"Soon we'll all be sittin on stools. You can be sittin on stools."
I have the CD with all songs and even that little annoying soundbyte played by radio stations in between encores ("Priiivate R a d i o" in those weird voices).
Not to say the show wasn't amazing, because it WAS. I mean I listened to my casette recording off of WAAF at least 100 times, i know every little nuance of that show, from ed's ramblings to little guitar feedbacks.
But I think the reason that this is so epic for most fans is because it emits so many fond memories. For me, that show was my first realy window into live Pearl Jam. That show made me fall in love with this band so much more.
Best show ever. I had this on tape. I spent an entire summer just listening to this in my car.
I hear ya RV. Before CDS, when PJ would do the radio shows, I would have plenty of cassette tapes taping those things. I remember when Eddie played DJ for some thing on radio and gave out his phone number. Fun times.
But this was theeee greatest PJ show of all time. Just perfect.

agreed. hands down. and not just because its one of the only decent bootleg shows out there either. my tapes died years ago. have a killer FLAC version that i play often.
Do we know of anybody that was there live for this show? I'd like to know what the atmosphere was like live because I've never heard a concert transcend itself onto CD before quite like this one. I was just at Hartford a month ago live and gave that show a solid B+ and I'm still a bigger fan of Atlanta 94 and I wasn't even there live---that's how good the atmosphere transcends itself onto audio form.
I can see the nostalgia thing, but it wasn't my only boot. It has my favorite version of Sonic Reducer, I like the way they used to play betterman, and of course I just think the performances were so tight.
I listen to it on PJlive, and I'm excited to try and download it now. It will get heavy rotation if it works.
Great show indeed. I remember a friend of mine won a CD copy from the radio station. I was sooooo jealous. Then my girlfriend at the time got me all 3 Dissident singles AND the digi-pack to hold them for my birthday. I thought I was in love with her but it turns out I really just loved the Jam Still have it though and play it on the reg!!!
Rats: "Michael Jackson is innocent..." Haha... maybe not.

I was there. My first PJ show. The venue, The Fox Theater, is very intimate with incredible sound. url]http://www.tobeysanford.com/CapturingLight/images/CoverFoxW_splash.jpg[/url This was 1994 and Pearl Jam was probably at the height of their mainstream popularity. Also, the boys had been on the road forever at that point and were just at the top of their game. The atmosphere was frenzied. Even getting the tickets was a frenzied process. The band was playing these little theaters and the demand for tickets couldn't have been greater. The ticket sale announcement was broadcast over the radio 30 minutes before local Ticketmaster outlets began selling. Local streets would look like the Indy 500 with everyone racing to the nearest outlet to get tickets. The shows sold out in minutes. I don't know how the fuck I even got tickets to this show but I'm damn glad that I did.
Back to the show... It was one of the most intense, religious-like concert experiences I've ever had -- before or since. The crowd was electric and raucous. From the first notes of Release with the band silhouetted in front of a lighted backdrop and Ed's deep "Ummmm....", I was breathless and completely transfixed. I had no idea a live band could be so good; I couldn't even find my voice to sing along for a couple of songs. I was blown away. Already a huge fan before attending that show, my fanaticism was definitely ratcheted up to a new level after. I remember jumping up and down in the middle of Peachtree Street with my buddy like little kids after the show still on an adrenaline high.
That bootleg captured the moment so well. I don't know if it was the acoustics of the venue, the production values or what, but it was a clear sonic snapshot of a band at the height of their popularity, at the top of their game, and filled with intensity. I always say it's Pearl Jam's Live at Leeds -- just a brilliant live album. Don't get me wrong; I still love this band and they are still an intense live force, but it's different now as well it should be. It's just nice to have this incredible boot as memento of that time in 1994.
I got a professionally produced copy of this show from a radio connection in 1994 since this was the show broadcast on radio. I've been a fan since 1991 and my buddy, UncleJosh longer. We were just chilling a couple of nights ago in the parking lot tailgating for DMB (6/25) in Mansfield and we played this CD in its entirety. There is just something magical about this show that I cannot describe. I get chills when I hear it and very fond memories when listening to it. Top to bottom a very chill setlist, but more than the setlist, it just was a perfect show to me. The crowd, the aura, the ebb and flow of the music.....PERFECTION PERSONIFIED.

Absolutely, me too! I won my copy when it was originally released in '94 (I think only 200 were produced in Australia), and "Satan's Bed" is listed as "Already In Love" on my copy. It's all the more special cause I got Jeff and Mike's autographs on it in 1995
Glaciers melting in the dead of night and the superstars sucked into the supermassive.
WTF $18 for a ticket. Look where we are now. Damm I wanna go back in time. This is why I TRY to make every show I can. I aint missing shit ever again. Bear
Tell the Captain the boats not safe were drowning, turns out he's the one making waves.
i remember staying LATE listening to this broadcast. i think it was a Sunday because i had to go to school the next day. my buddy and i both taped it from the radio.. for some reason his sounded better. a while later PJ released the 3 disc "Dissident" single package and i snagged that right away! only shitty part about it was the set didn't include any of the Vitalogy stuff or "Sonic Reducer". my uncle got an amazing sounded boot of the entire show (except for "Alive" for some reason), so i have that on the iPod now.
still my favorite version of "Black" is this show.

I had the 3-single Dissident deal but ended up selling it at a used CD store for food money back when, well, I needed food. I hated doing that.
But now I have those songs again! Sweet...
