I think it's time to put down the Cosmo mags and pick up a dose of reality. . . sex appeal is all in presentation. If I can pick up chicks with my 1992 Dodge Caravan, I can pick them up with a handlebar mustache. . .easily.
If you act like your mustache is sexy, other people pick up on that. Confidence = sexy.
