baseball teams rest players all the time.

but if you took the equivalent ... it would be akin to resting 5-6 starters on a baseball team ...

I see it from the fans point of view. Although, I'm not sure all the Heat "fans" even know who Duncan, GInobli, and Parker are.

I was playing pick-up basketball with some friends lastnight and we were talking about this and someone said "Who cares? Parker is no good anyway."

That is so fucking ignorant. Parker is a top PG, who just manages to fly under the radar. Basically the equivalent of not knowing who he is if you're going to make a statement like that.

Is Stern serious? Sanctions against the Spurs because one of the best coaches of all time decides to rest his 3 aging stars when they are playing their 4th game in 5 nights?? I guess coaches can't do what is best for their teams anymore. What an asshole. The best part is that it turned out to be a great game....too bad the Spurs scrubs came up just short against the Heat.

I don't see a problem with it at all, Pop is a smart coach he can do what's best for his team. If Stern doesn't want to see this happening stop scheduling 4 games in 5 nights.

I totally agree with you, he should be allowed to sit whom he wants and when he wants. I do see Stern's concern with it, but who cares.

Great game to watch with the chippiness, but a shitty one to drop.

For the first time, I saw Blake Griffin have his way with Paul Millsap... primarily because of foul trouble, but maybe also because Paul hasn't really come to play too much this season. Although Boler and Matt did point out how Blake is having his worst season of his career thus far.

In contract years for both of them (Paul and Al, that is), Al is looking more worthwhile to resign at the moment. Can we adjust his contract to discount his salary based on his poor defense?

Let's get creative, can't they come up with something that really says New Orleans, like the Hurricanes
Or the Mardi Gras Beads or the Gumbo, the Muffulettas, or ooh the Jambalaya. You know you would be ordering a New Orleans Po-Boy jersey ;)

  • Epic game tonight by the Spurs who outlasted Houston 134-126 in overtime. Gary Neal with 29 points, Parker with his first career triple-double. Lin had 38 for the Rockets who were without Harden.

Also watched Detroit-Philadelphia tonight, a spectacular second half showing by Holiday and nice work by Thaddeus Young and Evan Turner, especially on the defensive end down the stretch.
