    23 Arrests On Campus In UConn Revelry

    Twenty-three people were arrested on the University of Connecticut campus and three more were arrested off campus in the midst of the celebration of the national championship, police said.

    People were arrested on charges include criminal trespass, criminal mischief, interfering with a police officer, breach of peace, inciting a riot and reckless burning.

    UConn police arrested 23 people, 13 of whom had no affiliation with the campus. State police arrested three UConn students off campus and charged them with breach of peace.

    UConn police said they are also investigating several reports of vandalism, including two overturned motor vehicles, a piano that was set on fire and numerous broken windows.

    Revelers partied in the streets on campus after the UConn men's basketball team beat Butler for the national championship.

    actually campus looked pretty tame this morning. looked like any other morning except for the news vans. and 13 of those 23 weren't from uconn...3 were off campus...so basically we only had 7 idiots out of around 14,000...couple flipped cars and a piano that no longer works...not bad considering past events...

    Can I say I'm wicked happy the pre-party for Hartford is at the same place as Hartford '10. I thought that place was nice and had plenty of space. Great job on the legwork there Mr. Dunne.
