I'm updating the thread with more information about the bar.

When I return from vacation, I will update further.

    Ta-da!

I just looked at the menu for Chelio's and the prices (food) are fantastic. You would have to at least double those costs up here in Toronto.

I'm not going to shit on Toronto (at least not on this thread) but there's a reason it's the centre of the universe. Wayne Gretzky charges $22 for a cheeseburger at his restaurant because he knows he can. The people of Detroit don't have as much to offer and for that there are a lot of places in Detroit that are diamonds in the rough.

Well I work in Detroit and have attended events for 32 years in Detroit - Wings, Lions, Tigers - a hundred concerts (give or take one). There is a lot to Detroit but like any big city you have to know your place.....

As for Toronto - I lOVE it and my wife and I decided to get married there coming on 9 years now. Canada is beautiful and we love it :)

Tom, that's a great website with all the Detoit info.

For those still looking for a hotel, especially Canadians, look into staying in Windsor. Look at a map from Windsor to the venue and you'll be suprised how close it is (3 miles). You can take a cab or a bus across.

Also, the ball game on Saturday is at 7:05, not 4:05.

Going to the show... as long as I'm not working beforehand, I'll swing by for sure. Might have some art to donate, too, if interested.

Count on 4. Super stoked. Also if anyone has been to the Fox could you tell me which is a better seat F1 ROW EE or GB5 ROW S? The floor seats are off to the left and the balcony is pretty deep. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Counting down the days.

Please count me in and maybe Lil Dirt (if we can find him a ticket & his health holds up). He's dealing with a bad flare from Crohn's right now : ( & just decided he really wants to go to see you all, if possible. We are also looking to hitch a ride from Western PA or may look into Amtracking it. Open for suggestions. Also would greatly appreciate it if you guys (Tom & Nixon) can suggest some reasonable, clean, safe hotels nearby for us to stay. Please pm me here or FB when you get a chance. Thanks & hope to see all you wonderful crazy people, xo . One of highlights of last year's tour for Chris was that as he puts it, "only Nixon could find a Karaoke bar in some crazy suburb of Cleveland on Detroit Street" LOL! Good times and even better memories <3.

Will look around for donations soon.

I'm glad Michigan Humane Society was picked. I like WAG animal rescue here - http://www.waganimalrescue.com/

I'm just wondering if there could be more than one benefit? Because I was thinking about THAW (http://www.thawfund.org/about_us/index.html). When hubby was laid off for 1 1/2 years, they helped us a little bit with bills, especially during the winter. They said they were in need of donations... so many people in need of assistance. Just a thought. :)

Great job on making this happen so fast!

My friend and I are definitely thinking about showing up...this would be our first pre/post-party and we're coming down from the Toronto area.

Do we just go right up to the second floor?
Also, how far is this bar from the Fox Theatre? Can we walk?
Not to sound cliche, but would it be safe to do so?

    Should be interesting!

Just walk right in (no cover charge), and head up to the 2nd floor.

The venue is about 1 block away. IT IS VERY SAFE!!!!! Especially with close to 200 Eddie Vedder fans walking with you :D

Hey Tom - I think for the vinyl donations maybe just have the winning bids leave their addy's as vinyl left in a hot car equals :( I would gladly ship the winner my LP so they don't have to worry about it......

When you come in...go to the main table with all the merchandise ( I will be working it). On the table we have "Hello my name is..." stickers that people "sometimes" wear with their 10C name on it.

I'll be the one with the Eddie Vedder Detroit Tigers Jersey on ;)

Tom - I have donated a vinyl as well. I am kind of with Jim on this one but I am more worried about shipping the vinyl safely. Let me know what you want to do closer to the show :)

Since Jim is a good friend of mine and lives very close to me, i think it would be best if he took his and your vinyl and any other vinyls donated and shipped all of them from his house here. I will cover the shipping for both.

Or I can take all of them and do the same thing.

Tom, we'll figure it out. I'm thinking I don't even have to bring my vinyl, just a pic and I'll mail the vinyl to the winning bidder.....As for others donating vinyl they can do the same or if they'd rather not and have us handle we'll come up with something. I may be bringing Delaney to sell the bracelets and if my older daughter shows up she could take any vinyl home with her.....

I went to my local PetSmart and today after work I have a meeting with their manager about donations to our event, since they are a huge sponsor of the Michigan Humane Society. :)
