We'll probably end up drinking somewhere closer to the venue. If the weather is nice maybe stroll from bar to bar. Hoping to be in town by midday.
One thing that Providence isn't lacking is really good restaurants. Unfortunately it's not like the Paradise where there's a bar right next to it. There's lots of restaurants at the mall and next to Waterplace park. There's Blakes or Murphys which are both a few streets over from PPAC. We should pick a place and stick to it.

There is a parking garage across the street from the venue however for cheap parking go to the mall garage just take a picture of where you park b/c odds are you're not going to be able to a. find where you parked or b. get out. There are signs everywhere and it's actually pretty clear but I still always take a pic of where I park when I park there.
Thanks C!
Maybe I'll park in the garage across the street then. I'm not familiar with Providence and want to park as close to the venue as possible!
Gonna come to marley's on the beach before the pre party? after? come it'll be a good time!

I have to agree there are many great restaurants in Providence it is one of the few things Providence has to offer. As for Marley's there is one in Providence on Thayer Street which would be a hike from PPAC but only a few minutes in the car. To clarify a bit further I would not consider Marley's one of Providence’s great restaurants My top Recommendation would be Nick’s on Broadway casual place with higher end food that is local fresh and sustainable again not really in walking distance of PPAC but has really tasty food.
my wife keeps hammering me to go to the place that was on ramsey's kitchen nightmares - downcity
That is close by PPAC like 4-5 blocks on the same street possibly we had my wife’s 30th birthday there prior to Ramsey’s visit. A total shit show thank god for the transvestite karaoke or the whole night would have been a loss. I don’t think I would ever go back.

Marley's on Thayer St. closed I think... ask Dissidentman, he owns it. I was thinking AS220 even though it's tiny but it's local fresh food again AND within walking distance of PPAC. We should just pick a place and stick to it...

If you hear an igno screaming for "Tiptoe Thru the Tulips", its yours truly (And I'll be sober).
I did that at Tweeter in 2000 when he came onstage with Luke to play Soon Forget, didn't elicit the chuckle from him I was expecting.

This reminds me of a show I went to in the US and a girl kept screaming fuck me in the brain!! fuck me in the brain!! - you know from Ramblings 3 I think it was... (this was 2000, and a very improbable song)
I wanted to kick her in the brain. But I am a lady, so I restrained myself.

That’s good to know, I meant no disrespect and have yet to make it over to Warwick. Now that I know it is owned by someone on this board I will make it a point to get over there.
I think that by far the most logical places for the pre-show party would be at Trinity Brewhouse, RIRA, or Finnegan's Wake. Of the three, my first choice would be Trinity, then RIRA. All three places are in close walking distance to the PPAC and all are good bars. The best food of the three would be at Trinity, best beer would be RIRA. A toss-up for me. I can't wait though!
