The Frames y'mean..they're his real band

No I meant "The Swell Season." I know Hansard's band is "The Frames" but I personally enjoy "The Swell Season" a lot more. They are a great live act! Either way, Hansard's got a great voice and it will be cool to hear them together...

Only because it's becoming the standard. When a band can do something as revolutionary as make every show available back in 2000, it's puzzling that they would ignore advancements in video technology. Especially when I'm willing to bet that Eddie enjoys a Blu-Ray from time to time.

I'm not complaining if it's not on blu-ray(well actually I am), I'm just not going to buy it. I will get it off of netflix like I can with every Pearl Jam DVD.

I love how they spend the money on HD cameras and release it on DVD. That makes sense.

Just do it like every other movies thats being released these days. Sell it in the combo pack where you get the Blu-Ray, DVD and digital download for one price.

It's like putting the album on vinyl and cassette and not putting it in CD and mp3 format.

This thread sure has gone off track....

I for one would get it even if it was only offered in VHS! The only DVD's I have ever bought have been PJ ones. I'll be happy to add an EV solo to the collection!

As for the uke album, 16 songs :o

I'm happy it's coming out, I will just rent it from netflix.

I'm unappreciative because I'm not buying something in an ancient format that I have no use for?

    Clueless.

Not trying to be entertaining. What is wrong with renting it from netflix for free and not wasting $20+ to have something in a format that I have no interest in?

No, its just not that big of a deal. I can't imagine someone, a PJ fan no less, watching a DVD show of Ed and thinking, "god this fucking sucks. DVDs are shit and I won't watch another second!" Official release shows are one-of-a-kind items from your favorite band; I personally can't see how the differences in quality between a DVD or blu-ray, vast or slight, would make me not buy the show. As I said, its just not that big of a deal. Maybe that's difference between us. On top of that, you and anyone complaining about the anticipated non-blu-ray format waited about 20 minutes after this news was released to register complaints. There are a lot of things to complain about in the world right now, but keep it in perspective man; the lead singer of your favorite band is going to release a live show that you can watch. The fact that its not on blu-ray, well, its just not that big of a deal.

    Anyway...I for one am excited...

I hope its a combo CD+Dvd, then you'll all be forced to suffer through the horrendous quality of DVD! oh my, its sooo terrible! haha, just messing witcha... Remember touring band2000? Video quality was dismal. I still f-ing love it!

And just a random thought.. me and most of my friends...all the people I know, still have a regular TV and a regular dvd player.

The option of both blue-ray and standard should be avialable though with this new release.
And RM you do make a good point, they shoot the stuff with top of the line HD cameras these days (but thats just what any industry professional uses.)

Almost every new release is offered in a combo pack that gives you the DVD and digital download for free. So you get all 3 formats for the price of the blu-ray.

 Great news! I'm so happy there will be a DVD from Ed's shows; I've missed not having a boot from NJPAC.

Speedy: Yeah, I know, it's not 1992. I miss being 23, myself -- well, except for the part where that entire year actually was pretty horrifically awful for me. Aging sucks, but it sure as hell beats the alternative. I think I'll go ahead and enjoy listening to Ed and his badass motherf-ing ukulele. :)

Im gonna have to pass on the ukulele album.......

Yeah, huge highlight for both of us for different reasons. She is not as obsessed as Iam. As far as I know I think its just a bonus with Marc Seymour on one of the dvds, which is also pretty awesome. This one would have been cool because we were both there and that cover made her more of a fan. At least enough to have pj (sort of) played at the wedding.

Then you may want to get your eyes checked. That's like saying there is no difference in standard TV and HDTV.

Not ot mention that the audio is infinitely better on blu-ray over DVD.
