Just got home after another awesome show. I'll post something better tomorrow because I'm pretty speechless at the moment! The only complaints were pretty crappy 10C seats and no poster  Sure, there were idiots calling out again but it seems they've been everywhere on this tour and Ed doesn't seem to take any notice now.

Highlights for me were, well pretty much everything! Long Road to open was beautiful. Parting Ways, Can't Keep, Millworker... I could go on and on.

Ed told a sweet little story about his daughter after Guaranteed. Apparently she knew the story of Into The Wild when he was recording the soundtrack and whenever she went to the studio she kept looking for the bear!

Porch was awesome, Better Days was unexpected. Ed started it by saying "I was only going to do this once but it seemed to work pretty well the other day..."

You Can Close Your Eyes and Golden State with EJ were both great, their voices really suit each other perfectly.

Ed had spoke about the things Dick Cheney did while he was "drunk at the wheel of our country. Or maybe he was on amphetamines?!" before belting out I Am A Patriot. "America is like a shiny used car. Look under the hood and it's pretty fucked!"

Probably the biggest surprise was Crazy Mary - I never thought I'd hear a solo version of that! Ed was electrifying, he got a few chords wrong but played through it with smile on his face until he found the right ones. It was hard to believe it was just Ed - I was almost expecting Mike and Boom to appear for the outro solo

He began Rockin In The Free World by passing a botlle of red wine along the front row "As promised". He then said "This went down well last night - and there's always room for some Uncle Neil"! Hard Sun, yes complete with the Ed dance, brought a perfect night to a close.

It's hard to pick but tonight may just have edged night one. Or maybe that's just because my ears are still ringing!

Yeah it sucked that there was no poster tonight, especially as last night's was so good. The collective sigh as the first crowd around the merch table realised was deafening!

I was absolutely mesmerised by Better days... Just so special. His vocals were pure... Magic....

Wishlist, thumbing my way, long road all special. I was rockin out hard to RITFW and was sweating so bad.

Loved I am a patriot, sometimes again and basically everything I loved.

I thought he was going to play my slow lukin. He was introducing it and started playing the cords softly as he was speaking... ANd I thought no way.... No way.... ANd he didn't, but into Porch again was great.

Some idiot kept yelling out 'hunger strike' to which I replied 'How about you strike idiot'

Met some amazing Jammers over the last couple of nights. Saw and heard of some awesome things a particular group of people did. They organised a signed poster for someone....

Bummed that there were no posters and I drew row R. So 10c tix for me have been M & R, and tomorrow R... So a little disappointed that I am not getting closer, but it is still magic to be in the house....

    Bring on tomorrow night.... :)

  • I was shaking too hard to write anything last night. We saw Sydney night 1, which was good, but night 2 blew me away. The best setlist of the tour so far, imo. Opening with Long Road, and you KNOW you are in for something special. Ed's voice was sublime. He was just completely on it last night. Thanks for Thumbing My Way! It has a very special meaning to me. And solo Crazy Mary was such a treat. I was in a trance the whole time, just amazed at Ed's stage presence. Came out of the theatre walking on a cloud, to stand in the rain and just soak it all in. 10c seats gave us row A in the balcony, which I wasn't terribly excited about until the show started and they turned out to give me an awesome perspective of the stage and I could just lean forward on the railing and drink everything in without any distractions.

  • Another awesome Vedder night - thanks ED.....Highlights last night were Long Road, Millworker and Crazy Mary. Was great to hear the stories Ed shared...

In-fucking-credible evening! Two great shows so far in Sydney, no idea how he will top it tonight on the last Sydney show but it's gonna be great seeing him try. These shows fully justify the decision to fly over here.

Hanging out with ten clubbers from the four corners of the globe before and after the show he's been the icing on a delicious cake.

Not going to let the no poster thing ruin an amazing night.

    Great seats, thanks 10c.

When the first strings of long road were strummed I almost wept, the song holds a lot of emotion for me anyway, never heard it live and Eddie nailed it. Amazing. As he gets older his voice seems to be getting better and better.

Cant Keep, Thumbing My way, and Golden State were all great but for me Better Days in which Ed's vocal performance was inspiring and I am a patriot were the other highlights for me. Even saying there were highlights in this show is difficult as I cant imagine a better set for an Ed solo show.

Society completely acoustic and solo now which was really nice.

The crowd were pretty good, a few idiots, but your gonna get that.

Mark Richards was right in front of me and there was plenty of interaction between Ed and Him.

A rocking Porch, Crazy Mary, RITFW and Hard Sun to close out the show. Thanks Ed, never in my life did I think I would see you solo and in a room like the State, well just perfect.
Im not supersticious, Im just a littlesticious.

    I loved when Ed said

'America is like a used car. All shiny and looks good on the outside, but you open the hood and it's fucked'

Then into I am a patriot....

Also with the dude he kept yelling out 'Hunger Strike' , and someone finally said 'shut up you idiot'. Ed's response was something like 'Yeah maybe that would be good if I was a ventriloquist (then he motioned a puppet with his hand singing the other vocal part). What do they say, no idea is a bad idea'. Great comeback - he always seems to say the right thing back to them. The guy didn't say a word after that.

    Just an amazing night.....again.

Long road was a dream come true and I loved a couple of the song pairings too .... the contrast of Just Breathe into Lukin and the "Drifting" duo of Driftin' and Parting Ways.

Ed, thanks mate, its been a very, very special week.
