Aside from paving the way and providing inspiration for future bands, Pearl Jam has providing kick ass music that has helped each and every one of us through good and bad times, and putting on one of the best live performances (band and crowd) in the music industry

for making me feel like someone out there knows how I feel during hard times, and for making music that refuses to go by what is popular and hip, and talking about important issues in the lyrics.

Their music has kept me regular in the pooing department. For that, I am thankful.

  • remember that scene in forrest gump when forrest gives jenny his congressional medal of honor? jenny asks him why he's so good to her and forrest replies with "because you're my girl" and jenny then comes back with "i'll always be your girl".

well that's how i feel about pearl jam. no matter what else i listen to and what other shows/festivals i attend, when i come home to pj, whether its at a live show or through headphones, i get that familiar feeling and everything is just right in the world.

    i'm thankful for that.

If it wasn't for Pearl Jam there would be no Pit and being as this place is where I met the love of my life, I have a lot to be grateful for.

  • Hey Crazy Breed, what you are doing is great, thanks again for the SF poster, it went to a great cause. I do not want to be in the running, but wanted to personally thank you for your generosity.
  • I'm thankful that Pearl Jam's music has always been there for me (well not always, but since I was 15). Personal good times and bad.
Plus the fact that I know of no other band that rewards their fans (bootlegs, premium seats, etc.) like Pearl Jam.

I'm thankful for the friends I have made cause of the band. Thankful for all the help they give me in my times of need and also thankful that theyve made me more aware and conscious in bettering ourselves, our world and helping others thru charity (which also has gotten ME more involved in charity work, like CCFA events, for example) or whatever the case may be.

it was a great cause and it was my pleasure to be able to help you out and you are very welcome!!
  • OK , Here goes everything ( SHort )

The reason for being so dedicated and thankful is simple.....Pearl Jam , especially Ed , knows how the human being should be presented and / or represented to other human beings. They all have great values and demeanor that should be instilled in all of us no matter if we dig ditches for a living or are a successful rock and roll band . We all walk the earth together in this thing called life and instead of looking out for only yourself, maybe we should look out for one another, and I gaurantee that the world would be a better, safer place to live.

TY , I dont know what else to say...

I'm definitely thankful for the sonically enriching hours/days/years of my life that have been devoted to the musical force Pearl Jam. However, what makes me most thankful is that these 5 beautiful human beings have chosen to unapologetically dedicate their lives to opening up their souls to make music which, in turn provokes thought, saves lives and tightens the human bond between people.
    peace,

  • i am most thankful for pearl jam for being there for me when no one else could. when i was in middle and high school i was in a deep depression, which was the same time i've been discovering pearl jam. i couldn't talk to my parents about it because i didn't want them to know and figured i could handle it myself, and i didnt have many friends, especially in middle school. i'm thankful that when i was crying, they would wipe my tears away, when i was mad, they calmed me down, when i was upset, they made me happy again. they were there to help me through my first panic attack, because i had it when i was listening to jeremy from state college. because my father was the biggest jack ass you can imagine, verbally abusing everyone (even causing my mental break down when i was 5), i was upset that i knew what jeremy must have been going through. most importantly, when i was ready to heal, pearl jam was there to teach me how. they were the ones who told me that i can spend my time alone redigesting past regrets or come to terms and realize i'm the only one who can't forgive myself. i will never forget that message. it's because of them i'm still alive. pearl jam saved my life.

now that i'm older and have gotten (mostly) over my depression, i've come to see what else pearl jam has done for me. i've realized that i've grown up to be a considerate, reflective, wise, young woman, who thinks about politics, challenges authority, gives time to less fortunate, and is a "freak" because of pearl jam. their selfless actions, philanthropy, and all around beautiful, wonderful, and caring nature has shaped me into the person i am. they are more fathers to me than my own was. i feel like, because i've been listening to them since i was 3 when ten came out (gotta love mothers who leave the radio on), they've always been a part of my life and in a way, helped to raise me into the person i am today.

on a complete side note, because of pearl jam, i have met the most amazing people on this board. some, of course, aren't so great, but most of the people on here are fantastic. (this is in no way a way to butter you up crazy breed ;))but it's true. i haven't had much friends but here i feel like i'm part of a large family. i'm also thankful that pearl jam can attract so many beautiful fans together who will give and give, whether it be to a charity, a free ride to a concert, a free poster or 10c ticket, or perhaps even lend an ear, i know that there will be someone on here that will give. i am incredibly honored and thankful to be a part of something as amazing as pearl jam. my post is far too long so i'll just end it here :) even if i don't get the poster, i'm just hopeful that maybe someone from pearl jam (or someone from here) will happen upon my big, loving thank you and it will warm their heart.

  • I am most thankful to Pearl Jam for using their power & influence to help charities and social causes, and for standing up for their beliefs. Especially in a time where not many musicians are doing such things. Pearl Jam has a great attitude as a band and does so much for so many causes!

(All in addition to their wonderful melodies & lyrics!!!)
A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.
  • Pearl Jam brought me closer to my best friend, and my father. My dad joined me in watching the Immagine in Cornice dvd and its the first time we've sat down together to watch something together in at least a year or two. I'm always thankful to family, and now I'm thankful Pearl Jam can make that family better, which is suprising to say the least.

Thanks guys, I love the pit, you guys are some of the nicest people around.

I'm thankful for Pearl Jam for being R-E-A-L. They have their feet on the ground, they're real to themselves and us. They actually make their own music and it sounds heavenly. They don't take crap from people, but they do care about the people - and real things in this life. They don't fake it when it comes to music - and we fans can see it, and feel it, too. They have a real connection with the higher power, that we call music - it bursts with sincerity and love, every f'ckin word, every tune. We can all connect to them somehow. The connection I feel I have with their music and themselves is unbelievable - it has saved me many times, and will again - it's like I have found this light in my life, and people who don't understand their music can't see it - and this light, Pearl Jam, brings us fans together, because we can see it and feel it - and we will always want more, because we know it's good, better than good, and we want to be part of it all - and they let us join them. It's like we look at them straight in their eyes - and they look back at us, and there is this magical moment... and we hope it never ends. :) I'm truly thankful that they exist and I am here to witness the beauty of their music.

Pearl Jam Forever! Real people, real music - a real connection.

  • Thank you Pearl Jam for taking what has been the worst year I've encountered (thanks to a divorce from a man I've been with since I was 17, him admitting he's a drug addict, that he got us into substantial debt and from that I had to take a leave from college which I would of FINALLY graduated this year and we have to sell our home...to countless other things semi related to the situation) and adding something memorable to it. If it was not for this summers tour I don't know what state I'd be in right now. The shows allowed me to travel alone and with friends...meet new people and find out who I am with out my ex. They gave me something to look forward to when there was nothing and no one... And gave me music that was 'a shoulder to cry on' when I needed it. Through pearl jam and the love I and others have for their music I have made new and important friends this year that have helped me immensely thru the pain as well. With pearl jam this year I found it was ok to cry, ok to be angry, ok to be happy.... But mostly that I was going to be ok.
With out pearl jam...this year could of crushed me in the way I always imagined this sort of thing would... But in having them I found a strength with in myself that I didn't know existed.
