well i know i said i would end this at noon but i am sick and will be leaving work early to go home and crawl into bed so i am ending it now.

First off let me thank you all for participating...it was fun to do this.I just wanted to show some love to my "second family"..which are you guys, all the PJ fanatics who share my deep love of the band.I must admit i was never expecting the bummer stories some of you had,i guess i thought it would be more lighthearted and I would wind up giving it to someone who actually went to the show and got shafted...def. not the case!!

some of these stories really touched me and i decided to change shit up a little....

First off The poster goes to Lukin's Riot to complete his trio so he can sell them on eBay and raise money for a charity that deals with bone marrow.I too had a close friend who was in need of a transplant but he was poor and he was black...so he died suffering. So this cause hits close to home and i want him to have it.

BUT....

a few of you have had some really ruff shit going on in your lives and i can totally relate to that so i am going to send out a secret gift to 3 runner-ups and they are....

dlocke - man dude! your apt, your girl, your job and even your cat(i too am a cat lover so i feel you on this one!) you deserve something positive!!

Rise-Above - sorry about your dad & your brother..i don't pretend to know the pain you must have but i have had my fair share and i know music has always helped me through those ruff patches in my life and i do know that time heals all wounds.so i want to send you a runner-up prize as well.

Corey Lynn - being a care provider and having to deal with your own illness has got to be very hard and i have mad respect for you and wanted to show you this by sending you a little somethin-somethin.

the only clue i will give you 3 about the runner-up prizes is that i hope you all have DVD players!

also i wanted to give the rest of you a shout out! all you broke ass students, the woman who had the asshole husband that bought her a fucking butter dish for her Birthday!!:D hang in there, things will get better for you all.

and HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES TO GTFLYGIRL!!! I hope you have a wonderful day!

I wish i had posters for all of you!!

so the winners just need to PM me a shipping address and i will get your prizes off to you all on Monday morning!

Peace!!

  • I just spent 12 hours this weekend driving from Georgia to Philly(to move here); with the sudden move and leaving everyone and everything behind... this would be the best way to feel at home here. Putting up a new PJ poster and getting into the vibe of a new place. Anyways thanks for the chance!

Uhm, because maybe it would go nicely with the other two San Fran Jacket posters that I have. ;)

I got the same one in the mystery sale, and no, I really dont want another.

I would even think about doing the same with my extra, except I do have a son that likes PJ too.

As for poor students, I wish I was poor enough to fly all over the skies with you! Maybe we will meet up in 09 and I will carry your books. :)

Because it would go perfect in my Man-Cave alongside my other PJ posters. (Toronto 06, Dussel 07, Philly 05, Santa Barbara 06, Camden I 08, Birmingham 03)

Just picture it in all it's glory. PJ posters, Big tv mounted on wall, foosball table, bar, couches, Guinness on one tap Sam Adam's Seasonal on another. Perhaps a Strongbow...

    Ahhhh...now I just need to buy a house ;(

Because winter's coming and I need a new jacket.
    This weekend we rock Portland
  • i caught shingles and they are really painful.
  • I always wanted to know what was so great about owning a PJ poster. I don't get it. Perhaps if I had one, I would understand.
  • I should get that poster because I am an avid PJ poster collector and I do not have that one. I actually think that poster is cool and would look badass framed in my basement bar. The poster relates to Army Reserve an underrated Avocado tune and is perhaps the only one of three worth having in the San Fran trio...hook me up....

  • I have been a bad boy and do not deserve a free poster. So you should send it to me and punish me with guilt every time I look at it.

I think it would be really neat to see in person, let alone own a PJ poster. I have been a fan since last week and this would mean alot to me. I have never seen them in concert, but I hope to one day(do they still tour). I dont own any pearl jam cds, dvds, or anything else cool. In fact, I have yet to hear their music. I just think they are a cool musical group because everyone here seems to think so. Please pick me for your contest...Thanks in advance. I will pm you my address as I am sure to win...THANKS!!! :D

I'm a college student who certainly doesn't have a ton of money. That's actually one of my favorite posters from the tour, and I'm putting together a collection of posters that I will frame and have for the rest of my life. I would never resell it, and as someone who has a friend in Iraq, that poster and the band's message take on extra meaning for me. I'd love if I got the poster, but I understand there are other people who you could easily give it to as well. This is a great idea, and it's great to see PJ fans who are so giving.

There are a couple reasons why I really would like to have this print:
    1) I didn't get the opportunity to go to any 2006 shows where I really wanted to. The funding just was not there at the time
    2) I think it's a really cool looking poster from a sweet concert!
    3) I have 1 Pearl Jam poster in a frame, and I would love to put this one in a frame as well!

Because when I missed the sale, I rammed my head through my family room wall. 3 weeks later, when I woke up my wife immediately got on my case about fixing the wall. Because I am busy with my 3 jobs and other obligations, I have not yet been able to do this, so a framed poster will cover the hole in style, and I know that she won't complain about how it was done since she likes Pearl Jam, too. This will also help alleviate her guilt about us leaving Eddie's Boston II show before I could buy the poster, as she was feeling ill and I put her needs before mine (remember this thread http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=297534 ?).

Since I never got the Batman poster I have desperately been seeking, I think I am a good candidate (even if I really didn't ram my head through the wall!) The rest of my story is true.

No matter who you choose, this is one great offer!
For those who scoff at "Jamily" in my name... 9 years ago, when my first daughter was born there were jokes about whether my priority would be my family or PJ. I smiled and quipped "I am a JamilyMan." What was a family joke became a hated term among jammers. Didn't see that one coming!
  • Because.... urm....

    I want it? :o
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
  • I just moved into my first place, bought a condo, and it would look great in my living room. I do not have any actual pearl jam concert posters, as they are just too expensive.

    thanks,
    Rachael

I don't have any type of sob story, nor do I have the ambition to make one up. How about this... I promise I wouldn't complain **much** if the poster isn't perfectly mint?

Then I will put them up on EBAY and donate 100% of the proceeds to a charity (Something to do with Bone Marrow (I need to research which one I think is best), one of my friends is in desperate need of a transplant). I withdraw my name in this pool... This is a far better cause than my personal interest. Please pick Lukin's Riot, as this is a beautiful gesture.
