That is so simple and elegant... :("I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."0 -

Yep, we got hitched this past November.
No babies!
I am still getting used to the politeness of the culture....she worries about the needs of many, and I worry only about the needs of a few , so I often scowl when she worries about everyone!0 -

Yes, it is a very interesting culture.
My dad is very Japanese, but becoming very Canadian. He runs a sushi bar on a mountain. And eats noodles and screams at the TV during hockey games. That about sums it up.live pearl jam is best pearl jam0 -
As I learn more about the culture, I realize more about my wife.
Her family was interned during the war, and my dad's family members were in concentration camps in Germany, so we are a match made in heaven!
I often remind her that we had it worse!0 -

Kinda off-topic, but I'm wondering if you've ever seen any of the shorts by film-maker/animator Jeff Chiba Stearns? He chronicles growing up as half-Japanese/half-Canadian in Canada through animation. I saw, "What are you anyways?" for the first time last week on Movie Central. Very cool.

They are both bilingual and my son can read and write Kanji. I am simply amazed by them.
They are lucky to have a mom that is very dedicated to raising them Japanese.
My son will be making his 8th trip to Japan this summer, daughter's 3rd. I am so jealous!0 -
