It's hard to tear yourself away from the horror of it. I've been mesmerized by the raw video of the tsunami coming in. It's been an awful year for disasters, but this is just relentless with the radiation threat on top of everything else. And then it will be the water borne illnesses... it's just awful.15 years of sharks 06/30/08 (MA), 05/17/10 (Boston), 09/03/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/04/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/30/12 (Missoula), 07/19/13 (Wrigley), 10/15/13 (Worcester), 10/16/13 (Worcester), 10/25/13 (Hartford), 12/4/13 (Vancouver), 12/6/13 (Seattle), 6/26/14 (Berlin), 6/28/14 (Stockholm), 10/16/14 (Detroit)0

I wonder how much warning they had that the tsunami was coming. It must have been terrifying to hear those alarms start blaring.15 years of sharks 06/30/08 (MA), 05/17/10 (Boston), 09/03/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/04/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/30/12 (Missoula), 07/19/13 (Wrigley), 10/15/13 (Worcester), 10/16/13 (Worcester), 10/25/13 (Hartford), 12/4/13 (Vancouver), 12/6/13 (Seattle), 6/26/14 (Berlin), 6/28/14 (Stockholm), 10/16/14 (Detroit)0

From all the reports, the tsunami hit in the NE not very long after the quake. Within a half hour or less."What the CANUCK happened?!? - Esquimalt Barber Shop0

Wow. And figure, with the time of day, lots of people were at work. No time to go home and retrieve anything _ or even if you're home, I'm assuming you run like hell.
The images that really blew me away were the ones showing the surge of debris flowing over fields. The velocity was amazing.
Edit: Here it is... and there's a vehicle on that road, driving away. I hope they made it.

Yea, its terrible, but if the US spends 1 fucking dime on them, omfg. Im young, and I dont follow/understand politics much, but Im old enough to know how broke we are, and we got our own damn problems. If the radiation shit affects Hawaii, then deal with Hawaii, not JapanMSG II 5/21/10

Our deficit ain't shit. I was just thinking how I could help them. In the end money is nothing.
When the giant Yosemite supervolcano blows and destroys North America, I hope someone comes to our aid. I'd like to think we lend a helping hand regardless of the cost.
Our country is broke because it is run by morons. Doesn't mean we can't do what we can to help people. Gotta make up for the stupidity somehow.0 -
