ugh I hope ed never stoops to going on o'reilly. that show is just annoying as hell. o'reilly doesn't "debate" he just yells and he always gets the last word because it's his show. the show is just a fraud- he brings lefties on in the guise of a debate but really it's just a mechanism for him to talk over them and get the last word as means to sort of make fun of them or something. Even if the person he's "debating" is making a much better point, he spins it to make it sound like he's obviously right. It's totally worthless for anyone to actually go on that show (doesn't help that anyone who watches fox news will automatically side with o'reilly anyway). the PURPOSE of the whole is find wholes in all slightly left arguments, not to actually listen to those arguments and have the viewers decide for themselves.

This argument's been going around for some time. I agree with most of Ed's ideas but sometimes you don't want to hear it at every show. Especially if some of those rants take up valuable rocking out time! Air guitaring to "Bush is a moron" isn't as much fun as say, WWS which covers it. I know going in how they feel, but a concert should be about the music more than politics. And don't get me started on Bushleaguer, that song's just awful lyric wise (I do like the music though). We've been waiting how long for Who You Are to be played again and they play Bushleaguer? Ugh. Just my opinion.
But do we have confirmation on him being on 60 minutes?

i understand what you are saying,BUT.... i feel your ticket purchase didn't grant you control over Ed's mind or his Ideology and if he feels the need to speak i will listen to him, maybe because him & i are on the page when it comes to the war & Bush. i don't mind as much as say those who think contrary.but it is Ed and no PJ fan regardless of their political preference, can truly say it's a surprise when he goes on a rant.
he is a passionate, patriotic man and i applaud him!!

Where in my post did I say anything remotely like this? I hate Bush and the war in Iraq too, since i have to spell it out. But I'm a passionate patriotic citizen who can think for himself! The best political bands play political music, not shove it down people's throats all the time through speeches every night to give the guitarist a break. (I'm looking at you Bono) A kickass version of World Wide Suicide outdoes whatever rant he makes concerning Bush and the war in Iraq, everytime.
Whether I think the same thing or not, I have no problem with an artist taking the opportunity to share his views at a concert, not at all. That's fine, but there is danger in it because of the people who follow what ED or Bruce says just because they like Alive or Thunder Road and that happens plenty. Plus, there is no debate to whether O'Reilly is an ass or not because he certainly is, but so many act like he is the only talk show host who does the same thing and its not just the crazy right....most of the libs just aren't prone to hollering and yelling as O'Reilly
I am AWAKE....maybe you need another cup of joe if you think the vast majority of the media isn't liberal as hell...give me a break
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

I don't think this describes Ed at all. besides, the times dictate the urgency!! shit is so fucked up right now on this planet that there needs to be a constant voice of reasoning trying to reach the people, too many are asleep and unaware of just how bad thing are!!
too many are asleep and unaware of just how bad thing are!!
I agree overall, I just don't think that's the case at a PJ show!
We can agree to disagree. You like PJ so I'm not gonna show up at your house with torches! As far as Bill ORielly, what a fucking steaming bag of cocks that guy is!
I've never really understood why Fox is considered such a joke for leaning to the right when every other news outlet in the country goes left....explain to me how that's not true if it isn't.
let's see you in front of 20,000 people trying to choose your words Mr.Articulate!!
this is Ed in any setting, where have you been?
ive actually been up in front of crowds (not 20,000 of course) but hundreds and have talked just fine..your arguement would have been better if you said he drank too much Ed has been in front of crowds for years and the numbers arent the problem, he just isnt that comfortable speaking in public and if you were to put him on the spot with someone like O'Reilly or anyone who could debate him it wouldnt be pretty for him, thats all im saying
anyway its obvious we dont agree on anything and thats ok, thats what makes this world great
Ed has been in front of crowds for years and the numbers arent the problem, he just isnt that comfortable speaking in public
that's my point! he speaks out even if he feels slightly awkward about doing it because he is smart enough to know how important it is.
i don't think O Reilly would rattle Ed.Ed is no doubt an intense & passionate person who is quite capable of being aggressive and articulate. He'd do just fine put to task.
7 pages of posts later, lots of babble and still no confirmation of "Ed to be on 60 Minutes"...

More liberal bias from a liberal writer! My point is and was that so many assume the "NEWS" is 100 percent factual and evenly reported when it comes from a voice they identify with. Meanwhile, O'Reily -- a yahoo or not -- the others of his ilk are shouted down as complete and total idiots regardless of the points they make....whether yelled out or not. O'Reilly certainly spews his fair share of rhetoric along party lines and skews some stories to fit his beliefs, but if he is a liar what makes everyone so sure the journalists they so trust to give them "the truth, more truth and nothing but the truth" aren't guilty of the same thing? Because it's real easy to put stock in what you want to believe and shoot down anything that differs from that. I believe the real truth lies somewhere in between.
My bottom line is that O'Reilly, Coulter, Katie Couric, Keith Olberman and Charles Gibson etc. don't know everything there is to know, so Gibson's reports shouldn't be taken as any more gospel than those of O'Reilly's because both of them a full of shit to some degree. Why is it the fellow who wrote the book for which the link was so kindly provided is believed to give a completely fair assessment when apparently (according to the review) he is a liberal? He is certainly no dumby and probably capable of skewing information to fit the point he wished to make when writing that book. It goes both ways is all I'm saying people and we are fooling ourselves if we don't believe it

guys...i posted a new thread explaining why Ed might not be on this week. There was too much political babble in this thread w/Oreilly and such so thought it would be easier posting new thread.
