Worcester 1 was an upper echelon show with high local emotions coming with first PJ show since Marathon bombing. Also, a Red Sox 1-0 matinee playoff win earlier in the afternoon made for awesome pre-show vibes. Also the day LB was released. Great time.
Worcester 2 the next night was definitely the weaker show.
I can't be the only one that listens to bootlegs on the show date anniversary....

Philly 21/10/13 When we were getting ready to play tonight... My first real guitar was a black Fender Telecaster... It's not this one... It's over there... Tonight I was playing it before the show and I had to put this shit on my fingernails to keep them strong like this white powder... This was at my lap and I was kind of putting this white powder... And then there was white powder spilling on the guitar... And then I had this crazy real flashback to when I was about 15.5 years old... I kind of had my first apartment... One of the guys I knew was kind of a hack, a drug dealer... And he used to sell us these things called black beauties, which is speed, for 5 bucks... And I was going to school and practising in this band and the whole thing... And I kinda needed something like this black beauty thing to keep me awake, or so I thought... Just the most low rant bullshit... Trying to pull apart black beauty... Are there any kids in the audience?... But just what an idiot I was to be like cracking black beauties?... And then I called my guitar the Black Beauty cause I was cool... Luckily, I haven't thought of that for a couple years... Many many many years... But what an idiot I was?... I'm not really sure about the whole successful-musician-doing-drug thing... Just what more could you ask for than what you give us here tonight?... To be up here playing loud loud music with some of your best friends... Four... A bunch of friends that you don't really even know... But you feel like you do... We're just so grateful... Denver 22/09/22 We're blessed to have some literary royalty in the house tonight... His work changed my life with the book he wrote called Into the Wild... It affected a lot of people... Every book he's written that we've read has been epic... We've read them all... And another one that he wrote is called Under the Banner of Heaven... And just this year they made a really deeply, powerful, resonating series about it... Just like myself with Into the Wild, the people who did the music for Under the Banner of Heaven are standing on this stage... Mr. Jeff Ament... Mr. Josh Klinghoffer... It's always an honour when he's in the room... Mr. Jon Krakauer... Jon, we love you... ~ Eddie Vedder

Just about everybody's wife is here tonight... All the great wives... The important part of the group... They're what keeps everything solid... It's always great playing when we know they're here... The one that is missing is my wife... It gets worse... Today is our wedding anniversary, you see... We've been together 23 years... We got married 13 years ago... This shows that she's a patient woman... And now we have two days before I get to see her... I couldn't be happier to be here, but I'll be excited to be somewhere else in two days... Perth 14/11/09 I went to shoot some pool last night... They put the pool tables away because instead of shooting pool, they were going to have eight bands play... At this little place that I've gone to a few other times... I was a little disappointed until the bands started playing... Each and every one of them were fucking unbelievable... They're all local, from here... I shouldn't be so surprised, but you have an incredible music scene here... I'm just blown away... I was blown away by what I saw last night... Blown-the-fuck-away... I saw this band called the Fags... I love the Fags... And then there was a band I didn't get to see, but they were Mongrel Country... And then Bible Bashers... I hope I'm not missing anybody... But the first band I saw, their name was Cat Black... There was about 50 people... There should've been 500 and maybe 5000... If you get a chance to see them, any of these groups, but Cat Black I think they might be here tonight... So Emma and everybody... Leyla... Just seek them out... Keep your ear out... It's fucking great... I'd like to dedicate this to all the locals who showed me such a good time last night... Got scram if you need it... ~ Eddie Vedder

Gold Coast 19/01/14 We can't see it from here, but I swear that I saw it earlier coming in, or maybe last night... There's a moon somewhere, yes?... Is it behind us?... Can anybody see the almost full moon?... That's over there... Kille can you turn the lights up on the moon?... The lighting woman will make it brighter... The full moon does strange things to people... And it does strange things to the tides... And it does strange things that makes people have babies nine months from, let's say, tonight... We don't take it lightly that we're one of the last bands to be playing here... Deftones are playing on another stage right about now... And to all the other bands... Arcade Fire... Too many to mention... This is our first night playing a festival in Australia... Who knows if we'll do it again?... But it's been really nice and the reason it's been nice not just because the people who put it on and they seem to take good care of you... What makes a festival is all the people... How's everybody in the bleachers?... We can see you... Comfy?... They're forming a coup up here... They're holding up signs with drawings on them... Point well taken... Speaking of protest, I should mention... It was here I believe all the way back 2003... We were here... We happened to be here when there was the biggest protest that this planet, this globe has ever seen... It was pre the Iraq war, and there was about 150.000 people, if I remember down in Adelaide... We marched down the main road there... There was 500.000 people in Melbourne... 500.000 Sydney... A million people in Italy... New York City, everywhere... Looking back, you can say that we were right, yeah?... So, we respect public opinion and protests unlike the last American administration, and we apologise... There's an Australian author, his name's Tim Winton... I just read a book called Breath... We'd like to dedicate this song to him... It's called Just Breathe... ~ Eddie Vedder

Note: Soundcheck included "Immortality" (2x), "Naked Eye" (The Who), "Parachutes", "U", "Alone" (Instrumental), "Education", "Gone", "MFC", "Inside Job", "Sometimes" (Riff), "Around the Bend", "Long Road" (Riff), "Picture in a Frame" (Ed Solo), and "Can't Keep" (Ed Solo). "Hard to Imagine", "Go", "Last Exit", "Footsteps", and "Crown of Thorns" were on the setlist, but were not played
The show that changed everything with my relationship with my wife. It was her 3rd show, and as we were making our way off the floor, she says, "I think I'm a fan now". The night she "got it", and became one of us.
