The first of two shows in Katowice opens with Long Road, making it's 2nd of 3 appearances on the Euro tour. It ebbs and flows beautifully. Corduroy kicks off the high tempo with Animal and Brain Of J. So far, the mix of the boot doesn't really sound that great and the performance feels lacking abit. Nothing As It Seems and Given To Fly together are very good. Ed mistimes his vocals for the start of God's Dice; something that is a regular occurrence over the years! Present Tense is excellent. Not For You starts with the drum intro rather than Ed starting the intro like at Rock AM Ring; it's an extended drum intro too. It's another good performance of the song on this tour without doubt. Betterman I really enjoyed, probably my favourite of the tour so far. Before Even Flow, Ed sings a couple of lines from Daniel Johnston's 'Wicked World' I think. Nothingman is fantastic, feels and sounds so stripped back here. Rearviewmirror brings the main set to an end.
After what seems like an age the encore kicks off with Do The Evolution and Go. There's some cool effect pedals at the end of Go. It appears Ed is going to talk to the crowd but Matt's drums start up for Rival. It's good but I feel the Landgraff performance is better. Unfortunately Ed forgets the lyrics at the start of Footsteps. This is the beginning of the encore slowing down; Wishlist, Small Town and Last Kiss keep that low tempo going. Alive reverts back to the familiar slot towards the end of a show. Rockin' In The Free World makes it's first appearance since Washington DC '98. Ed's lyrics are slightly ropey early on. The latter half of the song is much different to how they have played it in recent years. It closes the show.
Highlights here for me were Long Road, Present Tense and Nothingman. Not much else grabbed me.

After the sold out first show, the band go onstage to a less than third-full crowd with Ed commenting "we've got the place to ourselves". They duly open with a gorgeous Release. Of The Girl follows and is easily the best performance of the song so far. Ed then tells the crowd they are going to take it nice and easy" and have "plenty of time to do what they want without the pressure of all those people". Sleight Of Hand is given it's second appearance and here it's an absolute delight but also with heavy guitar work. Perfect. The low-tempo start continues with Thin Air, after they finish the song Ed remarks "Ok, I think we're ready". The Binaural songs continue with Insignificance and Grievance. They continue to increase the tempo with Animal, Hail Hail and State Of Love And Trust with the latter really on song. Evacuation makes only it's 4th appearance of the tour then Daughter provides a brief rest from the high tempo. Jeremy is another that is right on point. This sparks off a nice little run with I Got Shit, Light Years and Leatherman. Off He Goes is simply sublime. Alive closes the main set.
Smile opens up what will be an 8 song encore. Immortality and Black complete an impressive trio of songs. Leaving Here is very cool; the intro to Soldier Of Love is abit muddled. Ed then brings out the ukulele for the third time on the tour to perform Soon Forget, which is decent enough with just the one mishap midway through. Yellow Ledbetter closes the show.
I remember the first time I listened to this boot a few years ago it didn't really strike me that much but this time round it leaves much more of an impression. Not my favourite of the Euro boots so far but it's up there for sure.

Does anyone know if the Cincinnati 2014 boot was corrected from the version that aired on PJ Radio to have both Unthought Known and DTE on it? I ask because when it was played on PJ Radio Unthought was played twice, skipping Do The Evolution (though my radio showed DTE as currently being played...it was Unthought) . Just wondering (mine shipped today). Hopefully someone knows what the hell I'm talking about.

You never really had to begin with.
Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

I needed to rewind "Habit" to see what EV said about Mike, but I had to get out of the car
I love this boot!
