Getting back on the bootleg trail after a stunning Euro tour is going to be hard. But here goes....
The Canadian tour eases in gently with Small Town before the band rip into Last Exit and Hail Hail. A quick run through a couple of Backspacer songs in The Fixer and Amongst The Waves is followed by Setting Forth and Corduroy. Daughter with the Blitzkreig Bop tag is fantastic; Ed and crowd right on form. Glorified G is awesome and starts a good trio with 1/2 Full and Evolution. Matt's drum intro for Why Go is really cool and this closes the main set.
Even Flow springs a surprise starting off the 1st encore. Mike absolutely tears it up. Likewise (but on a different level) Come Back is excellent, dedicated to Johnny Ramone. Sleight Of Hand starts fantastically but Ed completely loses his way lyrically midway through and the song comes extremely close to being aborted. Down and Black get the encore firmly back on track. Arms Aloft is a strange choice to follow Black (not as bad a decision as to follow Release at PJ20 though....). A quickfire through Lukin and then a mindblowing Porch ends the 1st encore.
At the start of the 2nd encore, Ed reads his horoscope from a local paper which basically says he should avoid glum people and needs to surround himself with happy, laughing people today. Ed thanks the crowd and starts off with Betterman. Naturally, the crowd take over the opening verses. For the final 3 songs of the night, it's anthems time with Crazy Mary, Alive and Yellow Ledbetter.
A good start to the tour.

My son and I were at this show, (Arms Aloft did suck the air outta the room)...How strange is it that today I listened to Worcester 2 10-16-2013, a show that I went to with my daughter?
Long Road kicks off the first of 2 nights in Toronto. Evolution, Once and Got Some up the tempo early on. A good rendition of Faithfull sets up Nothing As It Seems. Ed then chats to crowd for the first time, talking about the recent PJ20 movie and Neil Young; saying if a similar movie made of Neil it would be titled "NY51". The Setting Forth/Not For You starts the music again, the latter really on form. Just Breathe makes a surprise appearance midset and is actually all the better for it IMO. Off He Goes follows and is breathless. Daughter with a great It's OK is next. The flow of the main set kinda goes for me now - Grievance, Down, Unthought Known, The Fixer and Porch. Some very good songs there but the flow of this batch of songs together lost my attention.
The 'Man' Trilogy of Nothingman, Betterman and Leatherman starts off the first encore. Black is a perfect choice to follow this trio. Rearviewmirror brings the encore to a thrilling close. If you thought the 1st encore was good, then the 2nd encore will knock you off your feet. Chloe Dancer starts off the encore segueing into Crown Of Thorns. The transisiton into CoT isn't perfect but lets not split hairs. The only song that could follow that is Alive. A 12 minutes Rockin' In The Free World complete with Neil Young ends the boot.
Encores are fantastic from this one.

revisiting my first show.. Hamburg 2000.. It's fucking awesome! too funny though that Porch at that time is a 4 minute song
The first boot I ever bought and the benchmark sonic comparison to all other boots that I listen to...."this one's called Rival..."
I wish I had been able to appreciate Rival more back then.. one of 2 songs from that show that I've not heard since (Soldier of Love).. and yeah the sound is amazing!

Stoney (I think...) had some electrical difficulties that night during that song, but keeps slamming on through. The recording of that boot is perfect to my ears.
I'm having my mind blown by the Drop In the Park. Holy shit.
The awesome 1-2 punch of Go and Animal starts the second night in Toronto. Ole is one I'd rather not hear. The next sequence of songs is a good run starting with the No Code double-header of Hail Hail and (the excellent) In My Tree. Sad and Dissident follow. Setting Forth once again combines with Corduroy. God's Dice is an absolute mess throughout, the guys completely loss the middle part where the song pretty much comes to a stop but somehow they recover to finish the song. Deep and Garden provide a Ten back-to-back moment, slight mistake in Garden. Wishlist is very enjoyable. Even Flow and Present Tense together is fantastic, as ever. Rats is cool. Porch closes the main set.
The first encore starts with the 'club show' Last Kiss performance to the crowd behind the stage. After Just Breathe, I Got Shit with a Cinnamon Girl tag follows. It's a highlight. Light Years makes a rare appearance and for once the intro isn't fucked up. It's another Ten back-to-back moment with Jeremy and Why Go ending the encore, Jeff this time being given the chance to shine.
At the beginning of the second encore, Stone can be heard saying to the crowd to 'thank EV'. Evolution opens the encore, followed by Alive. Two covers are next in the form of Kick Out The Jams (with Mudhoney) and Baba O'Riley. Yellow Ledbetter closes the show and the two night stint in Toronto.
Overall, I think Toronto I was more enjoyable for me, especially the 2 encores but In My Tree and I Got Shit/Cinnamon Girl are worthy of a mention.
