    Adelaide II '06

Porch (minus the extended jam) opens the 2nd night in Adelaide. It's a furious start with Animal, Spin The Black Circle, Hail Hail and Evolution. However Ed's voice sounds completely shot on STBC. Nothing As It Seems is played for the only time on the 2006 tour. After Love Boat Captain, the band go through Throw Your Hatred Down. The sequence of 1/2 Full, Thin Air, MFC, Present Tense and Not For You is particularly good. Even Flow closes the main set.

Really enjoyed the main set but for some reason the encores, especially encore 1 kinda passed me by. At the start of the 2nd encore, Ed announces they are gonna play a couple of requests from the previous night, I Believe In Miracles and Satan's Bed follow. Blood follows and then its the (again) Rockin' In The Free World and Yellow Ledbetter to end the show.

8 hour drive tomorrow to Pinehurst for some golf. Bringing The Gorge boxset, the 3 vault CDs and 2 boxes of golf balls. More than likely only the cd's will make it home.

Final show of the Australian leg of 2006.

Bit of a disappointing one I felt, Highlights were Mother tagged on the end of Daughter, U making only its 3rd appearance in 2006 and Throw Your Arms Around Me and I Got You in the encores.

70 shows done for me now, 1 more to go - Honolulu 2nd December '06.

Listening to a lot of 2006. In headphones at the moment is Chicago 16-May-2006. Lots of good sets from the US tour but the Aussie Tour was awesome (as per a compilation bootleg elsewhere...). I saw the first of two 2006 Adelaide gigs on 21-Nov-2006. Was an amazing set, band performance & crowd with the best version of Black I've ever heard. Also listening to a lot of Philly 31-Oct-2009 (especially #2 with the rarely played Out Of My Mind... great clip on youtube of it).

Adelaide 1 on 21-Nov-2006 was the better of the two nights. I have friends who went to both & they all agree night 1 was better. I only went on night 1 - packed Adelaide Entertainment Centtre. I still rate it the best gig I've seen - the band was just so "on" that night.

    Vault #3

All I can say is wow. The Vault Series continues with another home run. They really have done a masterful job thus far being selective and choosing which shows for this series and with the overall mixing and mastering of the boot. This will for sure creep it's way into my top 10 boots.

I just love the band's overall sound from this time period. Ed's voice sounds great and they play at a pace that is more stripped down and not so fast. These days, they play at a pace that is sometimes a little too fast and I just love the pace they play at during this time period. A great version of Long Road to start the show and then busting out an excellent version of Act Of Love - this sounds extremely good on the boot. Dissident makes the always nice treat in the set list. Then the slower-paced Given To Fly and Corduroy make an appearance. Again, I go back to this time period where the band played at a slower pace, which I miss, and GTF and Corduroy sound great when slowed down a bit and not played so fast. It's just a nice change of pace to hear. A killer version of Not For You makes the set list, followed by the rare All Those Yesterday (lucky I got this at my first PJ show), the version of Daughter that made it on LO2L, a KILLER version of Whipping, Immortality, Push Me Pull Me, Faithfull, Present Tense, RVM, Black, and DTE to close out this excellent main set.

A fantastic performance of I Got Shit opens the encore, and then Better Man, Alive, and the always pleasant surprise of Soldier Of Love closes things out, with Yellow Ledbetter missing from the boot.

This boot is well desreving and worth the hype. Again, they have done a masterful job with these Vault releases and choosing which shows to include. I really hope the kind of attention and work they have done so far on the first 3 Vault releases will continue in the future. This is a great, great boot.

Yes, it's on the CD. But the recording format is different from the rest of the recording of the boot, and the song is incomplete. It sounds like they started recording the song after it began, in the middle of the song.

    Cleveland 2010

Probably my least favorite of all the 2010 boots so far. I don't think the sound quality and mix is the greatest on this one, and the crowd doesn't sound very into the show. A pretty solid looking set list on paper, but I don't think it flows the best. Go makes a rare appearance in the middle of the main set, with Army Reserve making an appearance, along with Sleight Of Hand.

Leash makes it on the first encore and the second encore is pretty solid with Wasted Reprise, Life Wasted, Black, The Real Me, Smile, Alive, and closes out the sow with Indifference.

Not a bad show or not a bad boot, but this has probably been my least favorite from 2010 so far.

I forgot how good was this show, with Dock of the Bay making his first and only live apparition on a PJ setlist..
How I love 1994 shows.. and this one would be perfect as a vault release (though I'm sure Dock of the Bay and possibly other songs would be cut/omitted/not recorded due to tape flip-tape limitations of the time/a rat infiltrated on the soundboard system and chewed everything)..

Recently, I'm digging the QOTSA shows on youtube. I am not growing an obsession for them like I have for PJ or Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin but it appears to be a good one on the side.
