Alright ya fuckin boot-heads I need some help in selecting some boots to listen to - I am getting ready to take off two days from work to visit some family. I leave on Thursday and come back on Sunday. It is a 12 hour drive one way, so that means some hardcore boot listening - which is the reason why I love long road trips because it means cranking PJ tunes the entire way. Help me out and tell me which boots to listen to each way. We're looking at a total of 24 hours of drive time, so rougly 10-12 boots to listen to for the total trip (5-6 per each way). Below is my entire official physical bootleg CD collection to choose from. Help a brotha out and let me know which boots to listen to for my travels!

That just made my head spin with excitement for you! You've had some good suggestions and I'm seriously under-qualified to make suggestions. But if it were me I'd have to pic my favs and put em in chronological order and hit play. I'd start with the Seattle 92 and Boston 94 shows. I happen to love the Tampa 2000 show and somebody else recommended that too. Katowice 2 and Seattle 2 2000 would be on my list. I cant eliminate any of your 2003s...love em all. I'd choose at least 1 gorge show and Philly 3 and 4. 2010 I'd choose MSG 2 and Berlin. I haven't heard any 2011 yet so... 2012 I'd have to pick Amsterdam 2, Oslo and Missoula. Not sure how many that is or if I helped at all. Most of all just wanted to say have a great time and drive safe.

My 1st PJ gig of 2006 and 2nd time seeing them after a 6 year wait!
Perfect (and surprising) start with Inside Job before rattling through World Wide Suicide, Severed Hand, Animal, Do The Evolution and Given To Fly. After addressing the crowd, Ed says "Here's to the fire and the blood of the Irish" before launching into Corduroy. Gone and Marker In The Sand sound epic(especially the end of MITS) and then its Daughter with a great It's Ok tag - "I couldn't wait to get out of America and hear some singing" Ed says during Its's Ok. I still get tingles listening to that tag like I did on the night. Betterman with no Save It For Later is next and then Why Go but the band play Education for the very 1st time. A 3 song hammerblow of Even Flow, Life Wasted and Rearviewmirror ends the main set.
At the start of the 1st encore, Ed thinks he is hearing 'some negatives, some boos' and asks the crowd why before realising we're saying 'Boooooom!'. Boom is introduced and Indifference starts us back up. It's perfect. Excellent performances of Black and Crazy Mary are next before Ed tells us about a conversation with an Irish band which culminates in Ed saying 'what's the point?' to which the reply is 'a great fucking place to play in Dublin'! Stone starts Alive and it ends a good but short 1st encore.
For the 2nd encore they play Thin Lizzy's 'The Boys Are Back In Town' which is cool even with Ed's messup on the 2nd verse. Leash is next before Fuckin' Up ends a very good gig.
I remember that gig like it was yesterday

Glasgow 00. Proof that PJ knew at one point in their lives that there is civilisation North of Manchester! :x
Really solid show and the Binaural songs sound amazing. Love the version of Present Tense too. There's something very strange about listening to a rare show in your home country that you couldn't attend. It's like having a video tape of someone else with your wife yet somehow you can't help but watch....

This was the first festival the band had played since Roskilde. You can feel the excitement and tension at the start of the gig, Ed asking everyone to be safe. Go kicks off the gig, followed by a good run of Animal, Corduroy, World Wide Suicide and Hail Hail. Green Disease is a nice surprise before Even Flow and the trio of Lukin, Whipping and Not For You is a highlight.
At the start of the encore, Ed explains it isn't about 'having guts' to do a festival show, it is about trust and thanks the fans before launching into Why Go. Evolution and Life Wasted follow. After Alive Ed tells us about a dream he had the previous night that involved George Bush "I don't know who he was fucking...well he's fucking all of us..." Ultimately the dream is about the war ("pull out") and Rockin In The Free World with a short Blitzkreig Bop tag ends the show.
My abiding memory from this show was stood on Mike's side but looking over at Stone during Evolution and RIFTW and being amazed by how good a solo guitarist he can be.

My MAN! We might have been stood right next to each other! And I agree about Stone, he blew my mind during Not For You.
I loved it. My wife and sister insisted on being with me at the front but then got pulled out in Hail Hail leaving me to enjoy the rest of the show on my own without having to worry about them.

My 2nd PJ gig of '06 and 3rd overall.

Thanks for the feedback from all, including the wise crack from boyo79 - ya fuckin' bloke! :P
